When Autonmi goes moon, fundraise Linux mobile OS?

Any chance, when Autonomi goes moon, that we could fundraise towards a Linux mobile OS, together with Autonomi take our privacy back? Maybe the ultimate god strategy?

True but I’ve heard that they did not go full in on that. I read awhile ago that Ubuntu tried to fundraise but it failed. There is a Ubuntu mobile OS but they did not go all in and commit to it all the way because of lack of funds.

It seem to work’ish but have a lot of issues, issues that would not be there if there would be enough funds.

Yeah, I was in the crowd fund for that too.

Still, as a starting point, it’s a good one.

Just around the corner for mainstream. I was about to try it on a older phone awhile back, maybe have to look at it again soon.

But a Linux OS together with Autonomi, imagine.

Wonder if @dirvine is up gor another difficult challenge after this one.:slightly_smiling_face:

@Erwin uses graphine on his phone and im getting to the point im thinking its worth the install hassle.

@Erwin is it much trouble these days to flash graphine on a pixel phone ?

It is absolutely the easiest install process ever. It’s a 5 minute process, no commandline fiddling or anything, you basically just unlock the bootloader, cable it up to a computer, visit a website and you’re almost finished.

I also have another phone with /e/ OS but graphene is by far the smoothest experience.

Btw /e/ OS could be a great partner. They try to make money selling a custom nextcloud that is very much integrated with their mobile OS.

Yea iv been thinking about going graphene for a while now. Might get a second hand phone to test it with before going all in

I am also tempted to try it with an older phone laying around.

How well does graphene run android apps?

I’ve sort of buried my hankering for a different mobile OS, but maybe it would be fun to try.

Is it as easy to use as android daily?

The only thing that doesn’t work is using your mobile to pay with nfc. You can still install google play store, and it will run inside a limited container.

Oh wow, that’s a pretty major limitation. Ok, maybe I’ll give it a bit longer!

Only google pixle phones supported, I guees I have to wait if not Ubuntu works.

I tried Ubuntu Touch on an older phone a couple of years ago. It was a bugfest. Not really an adequate alternative to Roid/iOS. Perhaps I expected too much, looking forward to a Linux phone as I was.

I have always been interested in postmarketOS but have not tried it yet.

Mmm. I don’t use NFC. I am tempted now.
Don’t mind lower storage devices now that we are on the verge of Autonomi storing my useless pics and memes.

An Autonomi “gallery” app would be great.

I’m being forced to upgrade to a newer version of android even though my current phone works very well. They just capped the Android version. Criminals.
