I totally feel you on this. When he mentioned dams, I had to disagree him. We can do it without damming streams. I do see how a power company could fund extending service via BTC mining. It could pay for the expansion or development of power.
It is a presentation to get corporate folk excited about BTC. So yeah had some of that vibe.
My hobby is cactus for methane production. No dams need, builds topsoil, creates jobs, sequesters carbon via root pruning. 100 HA cactus, 1 Mega watt 24/7, 3 green jobs, no pesticides or herbicides. Uses marginal land that does not compete with food. Low water use as well.
