I saw that. I’m being extorted by T-mobile with an amount a bit higher than Purism’s monthly fee $99 for unlimited service with unlimited hot spot. I can’t wing a Purism phone today.
As soon as my current phone is done I’m going to give it a try. Google and Apple just won’t stop with their invasion of privacy as a business. I’m already starting to save for one.
I want a PurismSafeOS so my Purism phone can’t access anything but SafeNework for apps and browsing. SafePhone.

Really? I pay less than $50/month for 3 mobiles for the family - mine is on an unlimited tariff, the others have yet to exceed their data limits ever in last 2 years. To be fair this is as part of a bundle where all our services come from one supplier.
Lockdown does mean we are mostly in the house now and it all goes via wifi but its still an OK-ish price.
Our “free markets” in the US give us 3 major carriers nation wide. LOL 
We used to have 4 but T-mobile bought Sprint. Not enough competition IMO.

I cannot possibly reply to that lest I bring down the wrath of the Austrian School zealots upon me and I will be accused of all sorts, including having the audacity to feel some empathy with those less fortunate than others.
But basically they whine about “freedom” and then work to impose a monopoly on us. I call that hypocrisy.
Thats the way to do it…

Such cheap clean energy doesn’t just mean somewhat lower costs, though. It means disruption — to some extent or another. Why is it disruptive, not just cheaper? Because when you get down to basically “too cheap to meter,” business models shift around, new business potential appears, and the market transforms.

Excess electricity at about $0 means a business or entire industry that relies on a lot of electricity will be attracted to the region like Pooh is attracted to honey. As this becomes the situation in many regions, electricity costs become a moot point for where to place a factory or other business, which can also shift the map around.
It’s going to be fun to watch this unfold!

I’m reading this now. The cost of everything is going to continue to drop. So far a pretty good read. The book does lack some criticism of the 20th Century Robber Barons but otherwise fascinating.

Here is a different angle for the more conspiratorial or esoteric of you to ponder…
To me the monolith appears to be clearly man made. Rivets or spot welds along the uprights of the column either side.
Reddit sleuths appear to have found it was likely installed some time in 2016.
So if this thing was installed in 2016 sometime and it was discovered and revealed now, why, why now? Just an accident? Maybe, maybe, maybe not. Who knows.
In Tarot a Monolith AKA column/tower represents change in the most radical and momentous sense. But it doesn’t necessarily have to be truly frightening or ominous. Because at the heart of this card/symbol, its message is foundational, groundbreaking change.
The kind of event that the Tower card marks does not have to be something terrible, like a disaster or a great loss. Change itself is a normal part of life that one has to embrace. But it can sometimes strike fear, for it means that we must abandon the truths that we have known prior to this event. The old ways are no longer useful, and you must find another set of beliefs, values and processes to take their place.
Coincidence it was discovered at this point in time? US Elections, Covid, talk of a Great Reset…

Good read, thank you for that. It’s nice to read some good news once in a while 
. I look at this as the known trajectory. If a cost effective fusion plant comes online or someone invents a solid state battery that lasts essentially forever, the whole timeline for a non-fossil fuel future is sped up exponentially.
