This doesn’t seem like the most trustworthy source, I’m unable to find anyone else claiming that China has placed 760,000,000 under quarantine. Wuhan only has a population of 11,000,000 and they only seem to have quarantined 71,000,000 people in total throughout the effected cities - including a “self quarantine” in Beijing which is only for people who have travelled to Hebei and other effected places during the outbreak.

If the scale of the lock down is as said, then people are likely dying en masse from not being able to reach hospital, or can’t be admitted because the beds are taken, or not enough staff to help them and what about those who need their urgent medication?
That alone is mass death, jesus

This is prevention, it has not spread so far. And with so much prevention, they will surely slow it down while finding a cure.
The idea is that our world is about to change. It is nice for a person to prepare himself mentally and if it depends on some external factors to plan from now on.
For example, many drug preparations are manufactured in China. It is very likely that there will be times when certain drugs will not be available at the pharmacies…
Edit: I lived during a time when the shelves were empty in the shops in Bulgaria. I tell you, it is better to prepare for the shortcomings … Things you consider normal to have as light bulbs may be missing and even if you have money there may be nowhere to buy them from (obviously there is no way to know what would end up first in such a situation therefore, everyone should prepare according to their reasonable judgment)

Not that I am a really an IOTA fanboy, I do have a little but they have never claimed their network to be decentralized just yet, thats post coordicide which supposedly will be here late 2020 potentially. They have had a number of really big partnerships with heavy hitters in tech so they must be doing something right

The current locusts in the Horn of Africa are potentially a bigger problem then the virus (maybe less for Europe / America).

Friend, unfortunately we live in a closed system and every problem in a closed system makes every other problem bigger… So a pandemic is bad, a pandemic with hunger is very bad.
I will pray for all these people, but I am afraid that we will go through very difficult times. It is now the calm before the storm and anyone who has the opportunity must act decisively to prepare.
How bad it will be on a personal level depends on how much effort you make now…

I was more expressing that the Corona virus gets relative a lot of attention, compared to other potential problems.
And the prepping movement is not new of course.

Market capitalisation for IOTA, which is now the 23rd largest cryptocurrency space according to CoinMarketCap, plummeted 25% from $975.74m on 12 February to $730.14m in the early hours of Monday 17 February.
Sounds fair, considering it clearly isn’t decentralised. Perhaps they would have been better off not proving it isn’t…
