Weekly Developer Update: February 12th, 2026

With some big announcements coming soon, this dev update will be a shorter one than normal.
We have a release going out later which is going to improve some connectivity and payment issues that have arisen.

Network

Improvements have been made to verification of peers for candidate selection, checking popular close peers with version querying before selection, which will improve query responsiveness through better selection.

Merkle payments have had some attention too, with fixes for peer discovery fallback, better reliability during network churn, and --retry-failed flag now working (where previously it only worked on regular payments).
The uploaded field in the payment receipt now persists the set of chunks that were uploaded successfully, even across multiple upload attempts. Resuming an upload under merkle now skips the network existence checks for previously uploaded chunks, speeding up overall upload throughput.
Finally, merkle uploads display progress for every 10 chunks, giving better visibility for upload status.

Launchpad

The launchpad has received some fixes for node status transitions, polling more frequently and updating the registry accordingly. This will get rid of stale messages that dont reflect the actual status of the underlying services.

These changes and more are going out as part of the todays release, which you can find here once live: https://github.com/maidsafe/autonomi/releases/latest

Thank you for the update and the team’s hard work on the major change in network stability. :ok_hand:

Is forum activity so poor that team members are the first to read updates?
