What’s available to use in verifying that uploaded files still exist in the network and match the hash of the original file?

In theory if you can successfully download the file then the hashes match. The client checks the hash of each chunk it downloads so it knows there wasn’t an error in transmission.

So unless your datamap was corrupted then the file should be correct

oh wow - I didn’t know the client checks the hash … but since it knows what the hash should look like it does make a lot of sense!

If it doesn’t check then it has no clues as to whether a packet was dropped or other such error. If it doesn’t then shame on whomever wrote the code. That should be done in libp2p libraries so Maidsafe should be safe to assume it does.
