What does it sound like if you say the acronym for some Safe Network Tokens (SNTs) three times fast? Sounds like “sents” to me…
Probably so. I guess we are just going to have to accept the inevitable “Safe Tokes”.
Catchy
Glue tokens.
It’s what binds the safe network together.
No. 10 chars.
Is that like a bong with a pipe for everyone sitting around it?
Seriously I have to repeat the lecture anytime my teenagers go out - do not share joints with your pals!!!
Can’t stop natural progression or is that regression.
S-tokes???
From Stokes' theorem - Wikipedia
" Two of the four Maxwell equations involve curls of 3-D vector fields, and their differential and integral forms are related by the Kelvin–Stokes theorem."
There is a joke in here somewhere but I haven’t teased it out yet.
When I do I will bore the rest of you with it.
For some reason this evoked my deep love for Jay and Silent Bob. So, “Snoogens”
Agreed! And when I share any silly names or ideas that’s pretty much what I’m thinking as well. A fun or on the nose nickname for a Safe Network Token denomination.
Sants
Snets
Snots
Snorks
I will go over my thoughts from a while ago here. My thought is that people will instinctively shorten Safe Network Tokens to something easier (as you suggested).
Like UNIX of old names of the inbuilt programs were shortened to something smaller, typically the first letter of each word in the program name, I think Safe Network tokens will in “slang” become something like the things mentioned above.
By doing this then personally I see no problems with the official term being “Safe Network Tokens” and people using slang to refer to them. Like
- “How many safes will that cost me”
- “How many safe tokens will that cost me”
- “How many tokens will that be” (context being Safe Network Tokens being used)
Personally I think that “safes” or “tokens” will be widely used slang terms for SNTs
I also think something like Safe cents aka ‘sents’ sounds the best.
Sent as past participle is also nice in context of a data/communication network
She spent SNT sents by the safe store.
Too confusing.
Yes sents becomes somewhat of an oxymoron very quickly.
Makes sents to me.
Snorks? Reminds me too much of the Snorkles.
Why not call them snookies?
Too Jersey shore
