Grog is wrong, gambling with memes pushes Solana forward:

there was a time where majority of bitcoin transactions where because of satoshi dice … gambling is a pretty powerful force
(I know you didn’t say anything against it - just stating the obvious and derailing a bit)
Seriously? Good grief. We were assured these people had to be accredited investors. Crowded how many of us out? Let them figure it out. Just ridiculous.
These are mostly equity investors pre 2012. Why do you think they crowded you out?
Shareholders were BTTF and required to be accredited IIRC. They crowded us out because the only thing they brought to to the table was a cash balance and zero understanding of how to actually navigate the terrain.
There was a significant batch of equity investors prior to BTTF, so we’re talking about 2 different things. These are individuals that invested directly into MaidSafe.
BTTF investors invested much later 2015/2016 in an SPV where BTTF is the shareholder (in MaidSafe) and they’ll need to manage payments on behalf of the participants.
Considering the deal we got for those of us who got accredited, I’d say you’re lucky

I was never accredited for BTTF. I loaned a considerable portion of my holdings to the team.
Fair enough. My point is that if they are not crypto savvy, how were they ever accredited? Many of us were supposedly not accredited, but managed to bail the team out nonetheless. Surely these people can figure out how to obtain ETH and move their assets.
Many shareholders invested many years before the project incorporated a token and in fact in a few cases before Bitcoin was launched in 2009. As you’d expect the project has evolved significantly over the years
@Nicholas makes a valid point many came before BTTF.
But to your point in general, accredited or sophisticated investor class is not neccesarily tied to tech smarts.. or smarts, sometimes just how much you were left by others.
To be fair, as a old hand at crypto, getting gas demotivates me. I’d just pay higher fees and use L1 instead.
Who holds arb eth? Its clumsy and a roadblock.
