That’s actually much better than “doing my own research”. ![]()
I’ve adjusted the OP, how’s that working?
i want to add two notes to the setup, but don’t want to crowd the content on the wiki…
- When starting dweb serve, you need to export the private key of your funded wallet to the shell environment you’re running in. On Linux and MacOS, you do this by running the following first.
export SECRET_KEY=<private key>and then launchingdweb serve.
While you have the private key in your buffer, you can also import the wallet into the ant-cli using
ant wallet import <privatekey>, you’ll need this setup to upload your avatar image.
- When installing dweb on Ubuntu, you may encounter missing openssl libraries. Do a
apt updateand thenapt install librust-openssl-dev, and finally restart the dweb install.
I set it to be a Wiki.
I’ll update and try using reveal to avoid crowding.
Thanks!
Anybody using this thing?
No one else has published/shared their ID to follow. The four of us are not holding water cooler talk.
I didn’t think of posting my sighting there. I will now, just to eat the dog food. ![]()
I will when I’ve done some other Bank Holiday weekend stuff. Let’s blame the decent weather!
Its pissing down here.
Cant complain though, last few weeks have been lovely.
No coffe and coissants out the back for me this morning though…
getting there..

Is Scratchchat dead / deprecated? It’s stuck at ‘Getting your address…’
Hmmm - there was a breaking change in dwebs Scratchpad routes - theoretically it’s possible that @happybeing didn’t update scratchchat after the breaking change
The route are deprecated but will remain until at least end of August.
@storage_guy It should still work, so maybe a network or some other problem.
i was thinking about the encryped thing - but didn’t check anything …
Could be, I’ve not thought about that so not sure if that explains this or not.
Oh well. It’s not working for me at all. I just thought I’d (belatedly) join the party.
Tried a different browser just in case. Made sure the SECRET_KEY was set. Atlas and Friends are still working.
Thanks for the report.
I don’t have much time for code at the moment, but Atlas is a big improvement on ScratchChat which was designed to show the way.
I hope to fix it, or maybe get a PR from someone though.
I did upload a version with fix for the typo to
dweb open a8525532a4c5641477e82cfbf9686fa3a9618ade10f9959e4501ab067ae3c087ebe8cf04868f0b8c57dce6ea6e91fa56
and it works as expected again ![]()
I’ve opened Scratchchat using that address and it works. I was using the one a27b3fdb495870ace8f91005223998dc675c8e1bceb50bac66c993bb720a013c9f83d7a46e6d0daecbb3530d5249e587 named in the dweb output (which still doesn’t work).
So here is my address:-
