Now this is interesting

GitHub link goes to @dirvine !

And David mentioned some of the tech (MLS, 100% NAT traversal) listed on the site in his speech on IF1 finale tonight.

It’s so. Damn. Cool. And classic David. The man never stops!

Very exciting.

When you think for a minute about what he has been through in the past 18 months and then he delivers s piece of work like this AND Communitas as well

What could he have delivered if he wasnt ill all lst year?

Looking forward to testing Communitas snd dreaming up a robot to get built.

@dirvine, the built-in AI assistance powered by MCP and integrated into the Saorsa application can work with a compact, distributed, open-source reasoning model that operates locally and, if necessary, in a hybrid Jamba Reasoning 3B model. Do you foresee such a solution for Communitas?

Jamba is designed to handle long sequences of text and challenging tasks such as mathematics, coding and logical reasoning with impressive speed on everyday devices such as laptops and mobile phones. The model can also work in a hybrid setup, with simple jobs handled locally by the device and heavier problems sent to the cloud, in our case, these would use the distributed computing power of Autonomi.

This solution would allow for complete privacy, offline operation in basic applications would be possible, and we could achieve low response delays, and this smarter routing could dramatically cut infrastructure costs for certain workloads. If I understand correctly, we could also gain modularity thanks to MCP, which would allow us to replace the AI model with an even better one in the future without the cost of rebuilding the application.

What do you think?

I’d copy this to Discord where there is a better chance of catching David’s eye

@dirvine tends to avoid the forum these days – quite reasonably IMHO - as there is just too much negativity in here.

Good idea, I wonder whether to copy this to #general-chat or to another section?

#general-chat, I think

David stated that he is currently trying to keep the applications and network free of AI, and that the assistant will appear with the development of Autonomy. It seems that there has been a change in priorities and David is focusing on the usability of the network, while interest in AI must be put on hold until the network reaches greater maturity. Although this may be a bit of a shame, as incorporating such an interesting, distributed model into the design of Communitas could bring exceptional added value due to the unique parameters of the Jamba model.

Full implementation would certainly not be possible right away, but if the model could initially operate locally as user support, that would be a bonus.

What David is doing at Saorsa is absolutely beyond next level. One look at the R&D Labs portion of the roadmap makes this apparent. It is truly inconceivable how wildly underrated this tech is.

Why do you think this technology is underrated?

It’s beyond the comprehension of most people, including the nerds/geeks.

The project is still in the development phase, so it cannot be said that it is underappreciated. Only when it is completed and it turns out that, for example, people do not want to use it, will it be possible to say that it is underappreciated.

Just because someone does not understand something does not mean that they do not appreciate it, and moreover, if someone does not know that something like this is being created and how it is supposed to work, it is difficult for them to understand it.
