Ouch, so close, this is why you dont leave design decisions up to the customers. 620 doesnt scale. Logos have to look good from very tiny to very large, 620 looks good very small but falls apart once its made larger than a thumbnail. 619 holds at both scales because it makes use of both negative space and color.
At the end of the day it’s a decentralised platform so the logo will have a piecemeal and fractured evolution. There’s nothing anyone can do to stop it being used or not being used in whatever ways people want, so I don’t think it really matters much at this stage. But it will be very interesting to see where it goes and i don’t totally hate where it has started . 620 has a lot of things going for it, and it is quite easy to change and adapt from what we now have. Just look at how clever arty types have been playing with it already. Vive la evolution!
how about using the new logo on the wiki as well?
From a distance it looks like a snowflake, so spreading it everywhere will look like Christmas.
Aww that’s the first soft hearted thing you’ve written since you’ve joined. Is our endearing community rubbing off on you or did ya get some buns recently? Whatever the case time for a group hug! Come here you avian confectionery you. …
!!!
Seriously though. I see the resemblance. Using it the way you stated could help set a cheery tone to a project many will initially be very apprehensive towards. I can hear the traditional anglo Christmas chimes right before seeing a billboard or listening to an ad telling us to be SAFE for Christmas.
