SAFE Network Dev Update - April 30, 2020

Perhaps they do it because you are out of touch with reality?

A simple analogy is that some people are depressed, without good reason.
Saying shit does not make it true…

It’s a basic abc lesson to have respect for others … and when you are in the minority, perhaps you need to consider your errors more than ever insisting that you know better… otherwise you come across as arrogant; dull minded; troll like.

methinks @gouda123 needs a hug… but smells like cheese.

Friend,

one day historians will read and write books about what we do here. Are you sure you want to write your name in the story that way?

Here we are fighting for the next generations and every hand is welcome. Choose the side of good :dragon:

Repent of your mistakes, stop breaking the rules of the forum and be part of our community!

@Dimitar is a much gentler person than I am. I admire him for it and fully support him. Come over to our side @jaco, @gouda123, @Lackys and all the rest. Start fresh with a new identity.

Yes - SAFE is for everyone, even those who don’t quite get it yet. Apply thought liberally!

:joy::rofl::joy: Except for the time when you accidentally posted this:

Reposting photographic evidence due to your tenuous connection to reality as a pathological liar. Never before have I been so happy that the forum doesn’t allow deleted posts to vanish immediately. :joy::joy::joy:

Ah chucks … I’m disappointed, do we have only one troll

On a more positive note, it reminded me I had this drafted:

Positive People Perspective

A positive outlook on life and other people, provides opportunities that otherwise would not occur.

Being clever and taking full advantage of the opportunity life provides, is about the avoidance of error. If you are at odds with reality, life will be harder than needs be… and the perception of opportunity might see you miss the positives that present themselves.

Too often people will default to a negative perception of others and then miss out on the positive potential of interactions. This falls into a category of fallacy, that sees errors follow from assumptions. Those who are guarded and always suspecting others of the worst motives, miss out and will too often mistake the real intent for being rotten.

The assumption of worst case then is good for being prepared and robust against all challenges but we should not close ourselves off to the positives. Errors follow from assumptions.

So, allow others to make their contribution and wherever possible interpret the positive aspect of that. On occasion it might not be intended but can still be useful for providing a way forward.

Allow people their opportunity to contribute something positive, before closing them down.
Listen to others and learn more than you know.

There are then a few standards arising that support this positive view of the world.

Read these then and look to apply them wherever possible.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Long challenged by duller minds, the UDHR has stood as an extraordinary example of humans coming together to aspire to a better world.

The Principle of Charity

The principle of charity or charitable interpretation requires interpreting a speaker’s statements in the most rational way possible and in the case of any argument, considering its best, strongest possible interpretation.
The goal of this methodological principle is to avoid attributing irrationality, logical fallacies, or falsehoods to the others’ statements, when a coherent, rational interpretation of the statements is available.

It’s counterpoints are “straw man” or “steelmanning” arguments that fail, by giving the impression of refuting an opponent’s argument, while actually refuting an argument that was not presented by that opponent.

tldr; Always assume the best interpretation in debates and on forums. People fail to express themselves in ways that reflect their intent or that capture the balance of their perception. Dwelling on the negative tends to conflict and mistrust and is less productive.

The Contributor Covenant

https://www.contributor-covenant.org/
Maidsafe’s development of the SAFE network has been following this and it shines through in the quality of interaction with developers.
tldr; a pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community.

Principle of humanity

Where we shall the same reality, we should expect we shall a common experience.
Is essentially about respect for the other. Expecting then the other is relatable and that their beliefs and desires are connected to each other and to reality in some way. This is important for insight into the past as well as the present.

I expect and hope in time to see and discover other similar positive approaches that encourage constructive interactions…

I’ve read recently that Polish people (like jaco), like to complain. In small talk for example. Apparently if you don’t complain that is seen as inappropriate bragging in Poland. Edit: this is more a contemplation of me (possible cultural differences).

I love trolls! That means we are getting somewhere and it’s waking folks up to the potential! Spin it!

Can we ALL heart react gouda123’s comments going forward?

KILL THEM WITH KINDNESS!

Robust development needs criticism but faux/fake negatives for the sake of being negative is a drain and bore; it’s a world away from the reality of what is fair and realistic. Development is hard work and the negheads tend to be ignorant of what it takes to achieve robust outputs.

Still, we need to be positive about other people’s ignorance too… there will be a lot of young minds, inexperienced and wanting instagratification for zero input… just have to encourage them in the right way.

Fake sentiment to match his contribution?.. I rather focus on those who deserve the attention.

Obviously, he is a very frustrated person without the same capacity for patience that most of us have, or he has a hidden agenda. Shoudn’t we just acknowledge that and move on? To continue sending barrages of criticism his way is just to stoke the fires, surely counter-productive.

Bro you literally outed yourself. By accident I’m sure but you outed yourself from an alt account. There is photographic proof and you keep lying not only to yourself but to us. I think you have some maturing to do personally. You are not only a troll but a scammer. I can’t wait to see your accounts locked at this point. Come back again, you’ll be figured out again. You provide zero value so far so either change your behavior or move on.

Nah we are not buying that shite —

Away and procreate, you are the kind of person that gets honest self-abusers a bad name.

Thanks all at Maidsafe for another solid week of work! Hopefully the problems are getting smaller!

Thanks of course in particular to @nbaksalyar who seems to have lost quite a few hours sleep in the course of working on this project, though if you’re going to work on your own stuff i don’t suppose that will change!

Totally get you here @JimCollinson, it’s a difficult trick to pull off, but I’m sure you’ll get it right! I always bend everything too far!

Managed finally to test out the shared section this week. Noticed a couple of things that may or may not be bugs:

Mobile browser wasn’t loading ttf files on ios or android. Is this expected @ravinderjangra?

Edit: Deleted what I thought was an issue with the browsers. Sorry for the false alarm!

Reluctant to chime into all the above, and I don’t think everyone has to be positive all the time, but if a project is interesting and trying to do something good (and frankly, what SAFE is trying to do is pretty necessary,) that’s enough for me!

This is just getting weird anyone have the number for a good psychiatrist?

It doesn’t take a good psychiatrist or any other to see through weak trolling… just pity the fool. Perhaps he just missed his opportunity to invest… or is struggling with some other project that cannot match this one. Certain gouda has time to waste… tick tock and still has achieved nothing.

All that needs to be done is complete the milestones as they are currently set and release a working network. At that point no one can say anything. While these dudes are obviously trolling at high levels, there is a point where you need to deliver in a real way. We all hope that is soon.

Lazy people want instagratification, so they can profit… riding the “wave”. Development takes time… and is the sum of positive contributions not negative ones. Gouda is to be pitied because he’s chasing money and not utility… as suggested previously, he’s learning he 123 and abcs.

It’ll happen in time, the progress to date is quiet evidence on the roadmap… farming and vaults at home are the next two big steps. Safe Network

Spend time hunting bugs and not indulging dull trolls.

Something positive can be taken out of everyone’s comments even if they are total trolls. The progress is good but I do think people need to stop saying “everyone wants instant gratification”. Instant gratification is not something attached to a 5, 10, 15 year project…that’s kind of a thin assessment on your part and others who say it.

Word salads hold no truth.

I see you are a psychiatrist or have read enough books to fool people into thinking you are one since that’s the second mention in as many posts. Everyone just trying to help and get along bud.
