How did you know? Yes, I retired at age 49 in South America and live on about 12k per year.
Thanks for the update, I didn’t know that you lived in a van
In fact I don’t think I know much about you other than your name, a couple of photos and reputation. A lot of people believe in your work and efforts and they support you that’s why I’m following and supporting this thread.
Hi, any progress on the exchange listing? I know you said that a decentralized exchange on SAFE is a backup plan but worst case is it could take years for something like that to happen.
Can you share your plans for getting SFSC listed on some other exchange?
I am sorry for pushing again but I just did not expect that SFSC would not be listed anywhere almost half a year after the crowdsale. The reason being you stated you will “put every effort” into an exchange listing. To be honest I cannot see you putting “every effort” into this. Maybe a little more transparency on that process would help. Thank you!
Quite accusatory, Did you see all the messages above? I’ve tried the ideas you have given those were helpful, and the other exchanges previously and shared the results with everyone on our old forums and also on this thread, very transparent, the method is exactly the same as every new coin listing that has ever happened in history: emailing exchanges and /or filling out their new coin listing forms and following up, which has been the procedure here and been shared every time any news has come in (which besides a short email from Yobit, hasn’t been much this far)
And again, you’re definitely encouraged to get involved as well as everyone else in the community in the form of sending them emails to show interest in the coin, I’ve heard from successful ones that that really reflects well in the eyes of the exchanges, who want to be sure the coin will bring good volume. And we all thought SAFE would be farther by now so you’re not alone in that feeling
Sorry for my tone but both of us could improve our tones greatly
Only way I can imagine being more transparent is giving you the password to the WhiteOutMashups email account so you can read them in their raw form but of course that’s very foolish and also very unnecessary because I’ve posted / screenshot them here on this thread and on the previous forums to make them visible
I am sorry for my tone. I am just a little frustrated and could not hold that back. I will be more neutral this time
Ok, so first I will try to explain where this frustration comes from. It is just that I thought that for now you have to wait till safenet gets mature enough so that you can actually start the real development of SAFE-FS. Maybe this assumption is wrong and you are already developing behind the scenes? At least no information about development was posted here for some time. That is why I assumed that this project is on hold for now and the only task you could do right now while waiting for safenet is trying to get SFSC listed. After my last post I could not see any updates on that process, this is why I assumed nothing more than what you have already stated has been done except maybe filling out the coin application on bleutrade but I do not know what the result was since you did not mention it again. So all this for me was not something I would call “putting every effort” into something (Maybe I do not understand that expression correctly since I am no native speaker as you can tell I guess ) . I really do not want to offend you but this is just how I perceived it.
I expected something like that you maybe go through a list of exchanges (e.g. the 115 exchanges listed on coinmarketcap: Top Cryptocurrency Exchanges Ranked By Volume | CoinMarketCap) and try everyone of them. I know that is a lot and probably not woth with most exchanges but that is just what I understand under “putting every effort”. Also you could talk to other cryptoproject founders how they got listed. Moreover there already are decentralised exchanges like bitsquare.io, openledger or NXT. At least for bitsquare I think it is possible to add a coin yourself via a github pull request (https://forum.bitsquare.io/t/how-to-add-your-favorite-altcoin/46). Also WAVES is about the release a decentralised exchange and if no other possibility exists to list SFSC maybe it is at least worth considering making a swap from Omni to WAVES asset (I think that is also possible with NXT). In this way SFSC would be automatically added to their exchange afaik.
So these are all the ideas that come to my mind. I will talk to the mineum founder and ask him how they got listed on yobit and bleutrade. Besides that I am not very connected and think I cannot really help that much. I also do not think that it is possible to convince an exchange to list SFSC by us investors since we are too few. I think the only chance is a small exchange that does not really care about volume anyway or going with a decentralised exchange and for that the best way imo is for the project founder to talk to the respective decision makers.
Do not get me wrong I do not plan to sell for good at the moment, but sometimes I want to get out of a position for a short period of time to take advantage of another opportunity and get back in later. That option is what I am hoping for and I hope that can be realised before the launch of safenet.
I hope my tone was ok this time, if not it was really not meant to be negative.
I saw this the other day and found it quite inspiring… it seems relevant here too.
You rarely get the things you ask for the first time, but perhaps with a phone call or meet in person rather than email you might get further. Just a thought.
I did write an email to a few of the smaller exchanges, but none got back to me either. I suspect it will take more persistence from the dev side to allay any concerns they might have. At the end of the day they just need to be sure it isn’t a scam and that there is serious work going on behind the scenes that could be of value.
Just my 2 cents anyway, I understand this isn’t a big priority but if you really want to get it listed somewhere you probably can if you’re persistent and manage to start a proper dialogue with some decision makers
This is great actually, my updates have been saying otherwise so it looks like these are not frustrations that you need to have any longer, only misconceptions so that’s very good news for you!
Not my stance maybe it was a long time ago but the SAFE Browser and safe-js have changed that a long time ago already if you’ve been following my posts (and please do in the future, I take time to write them so you can stay up to date, and not fall behind and then end up making posts like all these :P)
Safe-js is at a stable place, and looks like it will be maintained across future versions also (mobile websites / apps / authenticator thru mobile CEP Browsers that will support it) so it has given me a solid kit to be creating my apps with the team, have been making posts / questions on the dev forum here and there also throughout
Which I think people have used for SFSC exchanging already, so please feel free to use that. Also we have done exchanges with private escrow deals, escrows available everywhere and I also provide that if you need to exchange immediately
Other than that lots of very concrete and productive ideas again, and I’ll go through all of those as well. I might have forgot to post a email reply when doing one of your last suggestions I’ll look and see if I missed giving an update there. And I really think I heard of people using Bitsquare already for SFSC trades I’ll ask around again too. Haven’t used it too deeply myself yet.
And mostly as in the screenshots I’ve given, the plan was contacting and following up with the main exchanges that I mentioned on the safe-fs.io website, which was Polo, Yuanbao and Bittrex, which was where I felt the best chances of listing and volume would come from. That’s why it was advertised that way on our website, because that was the plan. So I apologize if I haven’t gone by your plan / expectations 100% but I have definitely gone by mine and continue to. But your ideas are very productive and I’m not a coin trader so I have much to learn about this area / all the millions of exchanges that seem to be out there. And I’m working find a place among them before SAFE comes out
Many updates to our website!
While every single one of the pages on our site received post-sale updates, the most major new parts are:
- the beginning of our company blog
- adding a page that describes our current pursuit of Bitsquare, and
- finally adding Avash G. to our company page, as lead safe-js developer
In regards to our Bitsquare pursuit, may I please ask everyone to make an account at forum.bitsquare.io and write a little something there to support my new post about adding SFSC to Bitsquare. I think we really have a chance if we pull together for it!
Thanks very much everyone! It would be great for our investors to have another way to trade besides private escrow deals, and Bitsquare reflects many of the core principles of SAFE: decentralization & no 3rd parties!
#Bitsquare.io
Maybe everyone was busy reading the dev update instead today, but I was hoping we would get some support here @nik you were very vocal quite recently
Please supporters, @Jabba @MyLegacyKit etc just one message on that forum can mean very much right now
Thanks very much guys for the support! Their forum admin seems to login every few days here and there so we play the waiting game a bit now, but your support means everything and thank you very much for it! If there’s anywhere else you’d like me to try then definitely let me know but it may be beneficial to just try at this one right now to show them our dedication to it.
We made it!!!
SAFE-FS coin is being integrated into the next version of bitsquare!! Great job guys thanks very much for the support!!
Also thanks anonymous users for the new pictures you added to our SAFE-FS mockup (at mockup.safe-fs.io). They have been approved and made visible.
great job! Sorry that I have not had the time to give you a proper reply to your last post.
Hello everyone,
https://maidsafe.net/roadmap_dev.html
On the roadmap I can see where we are now, but I don’t see milestone for future implementations say for beta or release candidate dates. I haven’t found estimations in the forum just that it cannot really be estimated, but I’m wondering when our SAFE-FS will work and in order for that to work we need SAFENET. Are we talking about say 2-3 years for a release candidate or maybe 10+ years? Does anyone know of a rough estimation or can point me in the right direction?
BR.
I’d say much sooner than either of those guesses.
I think most of us are hoping for vaults-from-home in January. From there I guess it is hard to say and will depend on how testing goes, but fingers crossed it will be around Q2/3 for the first iterations of testsafecoin (which should be very simple compared to what’s been done to get us to this point). Things should be quite quick once the infrastructure is all there to build around. It’s my understanding that apps like SAFE-FS should be relatively straight forward to build. I certainly don’t think it will take ‘years’, but I’m sure Will can give a better steer of how long he thinks it will take him.
Either way, I’d say you could be forgiven for expecting SAFE-FS to launch before the end of 2017. There’s obviously a lot that could go right or wrong though
Very true. In fact most of the functionality of a SAFE-FS app was already present in the demo web app we just completed and released. That was a step towards a live SAFE-FS version, which is very close on the horizon for us, and a near term goal.
Been working on small side projects such as these, but the goal with them has been to learn from my hired team members how to create the SAFE Web Apps myself, so I’ll be able to handle everything (changes, pivots etc) with much more agility at SAFE Launch, in order to stay conpetitive.
So in terms of releasing a SAFE-FS build, look at it this way: if I just copied code from my recent demo app, then we’re at least half way there. And remember, the demo app didn’t take very long.
