I have an Asus router, found System logs / connections, which shows all current connections, including UDP.
There are a lot of ‘assured’ connections to and from my nodes, but also a lot of ‘unreplied’. They are both incoming and outgoing.
Is this normal? I understand there would be unreplied outgoing connections for stopped nodes, but I would assume there should be no unreplied incoming connections. But is this so?
All my nodes seem to work fine, but now I started to think that maybe they are not.
If this is a real problem, the nodes should be able to identify it and react.
I was running ~200 nodes, reduced already down to 80 nodes. My earnings has not dropped, but don’t know if it is just normal variation.
Maybe I start over from very small amount of nodes and see where the error starts to appear.
Depends on number, it is not unusual for hackers, and so on to be doing port scanning and those scans to your nodes would go unreplied.
Also if there is no node with the same port# and nodeID behind this port then no reply either. Not sure if this is after a restart or not. I am seeing a lot of incoming traffic on the ports for the PC I have turned off. It was running 1000 nodes (about to do a restart) and I assume these are other nodes out there reaching out to these nodes even though its not been running nodes for many hours now since last nights power interruption.
I think at least some of them are really other nodes trying to connect to my nodes. I also reduced my node amount to 8 nodes, still the same (now slowly increasing the number of nodes). There are not much of them, but seems to be almost always a few failed / node. (65.108.196.xxx is hezner)
So my node at 12001 has succesful incoming connection from that ip, 12007 has not responsed to incoming connection and 16010 has tried to connect, but at least not yet succeeded.
