hey @et4te
there have been pretty long discussions about these numbers a while ago - I suppose that is something that will be discussed again when it comes to safecoin implementation - but first we need our global live-test-network =)
nothing is set in stone yet and there have been many who wanted simply all farming reward to go to the farmers for not making things too complicated
… sorry that I can’t help you that much … I’m very busy lately and I have to admit I’m not exactly sure what the status is atm …
(here the discussion-threats - just so you know where to look if you want to read what happened last time
We have a poll to gauge the level of community support for this feature. More polls will follow if the feature has some support.

What is PtP (Pay the Provider)?
It’s a proposed feature to reward anyone who PUTS (uploads) public content with their wallet address (watermark). When data chunks are requested via GETS, the SAFE Network rewards the wallet address associated to those chunks. In simple terms, the more popular your content …
There have been several threads talking about how App Developers can earn Safecoin. I’ll try to summarize all the information and post links from other threads. People can read the discussions and get more informed about this topic. You’ll be surprised how most of it has been answered.

Why is the SAFE Network rewarding App Developers?
From my understanding, we need to incentivize new developers, using Sa…
Getting paid network-level (and therefore network-wide) is insanely more powerful
Proposal by @DavidMtl :
Taking this part:
The amount of money you will generate with your blog post, mildly popular song, book, essay, comic strip will be abysmal. The amount of data that these represent compare to all warez, porn and movies that will find their way into Safe will be so infinitely small that there is no way this will change anything in a significant way to your current state of living.
I agree, but if you pay App devs only when people PUT data to their App it’s gonna be eve…
I was thinking about it again last night and came up with some really clear points about it that I felt really strongly about.
SAFE doesn’t make sense without PtP of some sort. The incumbents (YouTube, imgur, reddit, Flickr, etc etc) are all free (no $$) and SAFE won’t be. As a content producer, it would make NO sense to PAY to upload my work to SAFE without getting payment incentives back. I’d just put on YouTube for free, and get my following that way. Let’s be better than the current syste…
It’s pretty clear that the idea of helping content providers generate an income is important to a lot of people. Here is my take on it.
TLDR: I propose that Safe allows you to put a paywall in front of any piece of data and requires payment before allowing the data to be downloaded. To understand why this is actually a pretty solid idea, please read on.
What’s a paywall?
A paywall is a mechanism which gives access to a specific piece of content in exchange of payment.
“Omg I HATE that!”, you…
