Public Datasets on Safe Network

Is there any firm information what exactly they are buidling? I understand they may not want to overpromise, but a high level of features and expected use cases would be really helpful. Or are they flying by the seat of their pants, building something. I hope that’s not the case, but I understand in a fast moving small team that does happen (and can deliver great results).

This is good to know, but I get your point that it may not be picked up, or might be superceded by Autonomi.

My own issue is lack of time now, or I’d say yes please and include support in dweb.

I pray that someone might pick up parts of dweb so I can focus on parts that really need my attention.

I don’t think waiting for Autonomi to do anything is viable. They keep so much to themselves and are terrible at giving realistic timescales for what they do share. So IMO we should look at the resources we have and proceed until the situation demands otherwise.

Is the media (images etc) also included in that 20GB. Honestly I would have thought that the media itself would have been much larger. The text I can imagine is that size.

Looking for important data to upload?

Here’s a site under threat due to Google.

@rusty.spork Please can you discuss the potential PR opportunity with @Bux: Autonomi step in and preserve a dataset that is under threat

Seems a no brainer.

I’ve used that site for old drivers in the past. It seems like the perfect candidate for persistent storage!

Blimey!

How about all the music in the world?

Well, 186 million tracks plus metadata from Spotify.

Crikey!

That’s a bold move.

Let’s get it up though!

Edit:

Actually, that doesn’t make sense. It’s not strictly speaking Public even if it’s publicly available now.
