Proxmox anyone?

I’m dipping my toes in Home Automation and have ordered a couple of sensors and a Sonoff dongle for use with Home Assistant (privacy focused FOSS hub/dashboard software).

As a next step someone (on Mastodon) suggested getting a cheap mini PC as a dedicated hub rather than either a specialist box or a Pi, and mentioned I could run multiple VMs and containers using Proxmox (a FOSS Linux based virtualization tool that can run across multiple nodes).

Proxmox sounds ideal for someone wanting to manage clusters of cheap old devices running Autonomi nodes.

So I wondered if anyone here has experience of it?

More here:

Sounds like something @Josh might have looked at for his cluster.

pretty sure there was discussion of Proxmox 2-3 years back.

Well worth checking out again.
However we should remember that Autonomi2.0 nodes will allegedly need a lot less babying than the previous versions.

I use it extensively, and have been using it for a decade or two at least.

All my antnodes v1 pids ran on that platform (fully automated setup (provisioning end to end)) via code, plus monitoring, and other components. Though, its used for others projects too, outside of antnodes.

I would for sure recommend the platform.
