It is Easter here. Is it Easter in the UK (or USA)
I ask because I thought it strange that a testnet would be released the day before a 4 day weekend when many visit family & friends

Nobody should be visiting anybody.
And important though Spring renewal pagan festivals are - whether hijacked by the soul-crushing conformism of organised Christianity or not - NONE of it should matter when we have something as important as a test net about to land.

Sorry my bad, I keep forgetting how bad it is elsewhere. We started social distancing, locked boarders and used wisely lockdowns (our state only had one 3 day lockdown) so that we can move freely without fear, as long as we social distance.
Oh yes so true, Fertility goddess and why the eggs are important and easter bunny. Bunnies are known for their reproduction rates.
But in reality it is still a time that many hold special because of childhood memories or as a time when they (in the past) spent with family and friends. And that can still be done virtually for those who cannot freely travel.

I think we need a separate wallet address for celebrations. Testnet, beta, launch whatever you want to call it. The Devs need to celebrate properly and the community should be grateful to provide the support

Opera used to have a feature to auto refresh the page every X seconds, but looks like that is gone now. The last option on this page looks pretty easy if you have a local webserver:
