some things it’s worth remembering:

  • NRS as it stands is application logic. It does not exist in the network. (It cannot be hard coded to limit characters eg). It is just a deterministic way of generating xorNames.

  • NRS is ‘sha3(publicName)’ but it could be anything. (‘ sha3(publicName + bacon)’

  • It only exists as long as applications choose to resolve it. Making a change to this is trivial. There is already talk of competing namespaces.

  • Only XorUrls exist on the network.
