I’m really liking these logos and how good they look on shirts! And Supermaid, that’s great. ![]()
I really like the middle one, except it bugs my eyes the top and bottom vertical lines are not straight and the balls on them are not centered.
Also, that middle S logo could fit really well on the rightmost design.
Yeah I did it ‘‘free hand’’ details like that bug me too. I’ll probably redo the the hybrid with more precision now that it’s grown on me.
The black hoodie with just the logo on the front is sharp.
The only thing I like about the logo is that its designed in the shape of a cube. I like cubes because they symbolize intelligence, technology, safety and strength. Apart from maybe some crystals there are really no such things as natural cubes created by mother nature. But anyway i’m getting ahead of myself, Its a terribly bad logo.
A variation on the logo, with some colors.
If safenet is going to be as ubiquitous as we all want it to be, why not put the whole color spectrum in ![]()

Kind of looks like the Picasa logo, especially the smaller ones that show less detail. Not too sure about the white space in the middle, not bad variation otherwise ![]()
Thank you ![]()
The center is in fact a white circle coalescing from the junction of all colors.
It makes for another metaphor for the “center-less” nature of the network, a blind spot right in the middle.
Love this one! I would actually like to see this in the forum logo personally
… I can’t help feeling like it misses the colourful punch of the old logo.
Am I alone in thinking this is clearer more visible and warmer?
Maybe play with the middle a bit, but I prefer it to the version we are currently using even unchanged.
I recreated the logo the original by Sheva had a couple of irregularities so thought Id play with some color by filling the guidelines probably not everybody’s cup of tea but good if you into psychedelics ![]()
Cool! Or maybe if you never tried LSD but wanted to know what it’d be like?
Looks pretty cool haha ![]()
Here it is ![]()

God knows I’m no designer, and I’m slightly in awe of people who are creative in that way, but in my work I frequently deal with big tech marketing folks. For them, the company logo is a sacred object and must only be handled according to strict rules.
Mentioning no names, but let’s take a large and well known chipmaker. They seemingly have a whole army of logo police whose job it is to ensure that the Holy Logo is not placed dangerously close to any page edges, and that the sacred colour (let’s say it’s blue) does not clash with any other lesser blues nearby, and that it is the right size in proportion to the page font used and … the list goes on.
I’m not saying that this is a good thing. It’s great that people can use their creativity in the open source tradition and take something and run with it, and a small startup is a very different beast than a tech behemoth, so of course different rules apply. (Also, these people are a pain in the arse to deal with, but that’s beside the point.)
What I am saying is that this approach (i.e. strict control over branding) has been successful for them as it allows them to present a consistent and instantly recognisable face to the world, which is very useful when judgments are made subconsciously in a split second.
Note to all: @BambooGarden and I are working on a logo for SAFEpress, perhaps @moderators could move our posts to a new topic to avoid confusion.
Sure, the new topic is here ![]()
I think the main difference here is that the variations are for different uses not for the SAFE Network as such. It’s a beautiful thing being able to borrow and change for other projects on the network in so doing matching your identity to that of the network without fear of copyright infringement.
So if somebody sees app ABC and a logo that corresponds to the network logo the association can be made instantly (hopefully). And that I think is a good thing.
Absolutely nothing wrong with experimenting and trying out new things, and I fully agree with your point about copyright. But …
They will only make that connection if the network logo is instantly recognisable as such. That’s my point.
Bingo! Everyone would want these APP builders to associate their products with MAIDSAFE and we all stand to gain from it being obvious these are SAFEnet app’s. Maidsafe wants these APP builders to continually promote the safenetwork in a clear and convincing fashion.
APP builders who want to create a new logo can also place the official logo somewhere on the frontfacing area of the app with taglines like “Powering the SafeNetwork” . There really should be an standard that everyone uses so as to not confuse new-comers.
EDIT -
my apologies @BambooGarden and @happybeing I didnt realize it was a private project. Good luck
