So why is this exchange not taking off at all? Is there some technical problem or is it something else? My MAID wallet in trading account still has the aforementioned “Maintenance” and “Trade” is grayed out. But still the orders can bet set and are executed.
At the moment there is buy order of 11996 MAID with a price of 2115 satoshis, compared to the price of 1962 satoshis on Bittrex. I don’t know how long it has been there, but anyway it is decent lump of money waiting, if you want to sell. And there is continuous activity around lower prices in Bittrex. Why not here?
What was the high volume in the beginning and why it stopped?
The buy side has 7 orders 4 of them offering 100 satoshis per MAID or lower! Where are all the Americans? Are they not interested in this project, or do they have better ways to buy after all?
EDIT:
OK, I asked from their helpdesk:
The MAID wallet in my trading account has been marked to be in “Maintenance” and the “trading” option is grayed out. But still I could sell 5 MAID yesterday. Is there some technical problems going on, or not? Trading seemed to be starting very active, but then died out quickly, I wonder if there is some glitch in your machinery…
Let’s see.
Anyway, people are asking for more exchanges elsewhere in the forum. If the lack of trading in this one is fixed by fixing some technical problem, I’m all for more exchanges. But if the exchange is working fine and there is still no trading, I wonder what good would more exchanges do?
EDIT 2:
OK, you cannot deposit or withdraw MAID right now. Maybe there would be selling if the sellers could deposit…
If we have access to a decentralized AMM (automated market maker like UniSwap) exchange, people like me who never intend to sell can create a price floor, because unlike centralized exchanges - where one sells for $100 and another buys for $100 and there is nothing left - in the AMM exchanges when someone buys for $100 these $100 remain in the exchange and act as a price support…
It’s a stepping stone in the right direction, but P2PB2B isn’t an American exchange nor is it one of the bigger/more well known exchanges, so most Americans aren’t familiar with it. It will take time for Americans to adopt the exchange. Also, the Americans who did sign up are likely already part of this community, which is relatively small. They won’t be able to move the needle alone. The project needs to attract new hands.
My wallet is still showing it’s in maintenance. At first, I was having trouble depositing MAID but all I could gather was that the wallet was grayed out. I tried sending 5 MAID to my bitcoin address because I thought that may be how their design recognized it. The MAID arrived, but as a small bitcoin deposit. Ergo, don’t do what I did.
Before it was put under maintenance, i made two withdrawals that sat at “wait for the confirmation” for an hour or two, but it had its TX ID, does yours have an ID?
In my case, it finally switched to in-progress and has a TX ID. It took 5.5 hours to get there, heads up to anyone else who sees the message that it can take a long time.
Maybe they are just paying low fees, not great when next block fees are well under what your paying them in fees to do it.
It would certainly explain long waits if you have a txid though.
They are probably just batching a bunch of withdrawal requests into one transaction like Coinbase does to cut down on their fees, and likely have very few people trying to pull MAID out of the exchange so it is taking a long time to get enough transactions to make it worth it. I’d be interested to see the blockchain explorer on one of these transactions to see if it is a single transfer.
