It passes the two way door test for a start so its risk level is low. It is only as risky as the ability to secure Omni private keys.
From one particular perspective, yes.
MAID wallet still under maintenance. I just asked them when it will be functional again. I hope soon. @anon61899651 could you maybe help to speed up the process?
I’m pushing at least twice a day, its tiresome. Their best tech guy is now on the case and will solve it, I would however expect it to be a few days still as their initial integration is flawed.
No need to worry, they’re working hard to get it resolved but I agree that it fees very incompetent from their side. Lets hope the tech specialist will fix it asap.
Try to sell for USDT and then send to Bittrex, worked for me. The USDT transfer fee is also slightly less than MAID.
I have too much there to get even remotely decent price. Also, it would be taxable event.
@anon61899651 thanks for your efforts and information about the situation. Much appreciated!
I read that a Turkish exchange has collapsed with the owner leaving the country and $2 billion missing
Haven’t gotten any reply. Still under maintenance.
I don’t wanna feed into my “negativity”, LOL. The good thing is, it’s probably not a scam. The bad part is, it’s what it is. Unfortunately, a reputable cex is out of the question (at least there’s no questioning anymore) and erc20 switch doesn’t seem scheduled for tomorrow or anything. Same as always, basically.
That’s my thoughts, too. The worst thing is that I don’t have any idea when these MAID are going to be within my reach again. I suppose they will eventually, but it might take weeks.
Yeah, really sorry about this guys. I’m still in touch with them, and I believe so is the Maidsafe team right now. They’re struggeling with the correct Omni implementation, could take a while.
No, no, it’s not your fault!
And I just found out they had answered to my request, it had just ended in different folder than the initial automatic “your ticket has been received” email. Their answer was polite and professional:
Thank you for contacting us!
We are working on it. Sorry for the long waiting. Please wait for the official announcement.
Thank you for understanding.
Regards,
P2PB2B Support Team
I looked at selling my MAID on P2PB2B for BTC so I could access my locked/stolen funds.
The withdrawal fee is a whopping 0.0015BTC
Effing chancers is the politest phrase I can find for this.
I put funds into this exchange to support it and help offer trading opportunities for forum members based in the USA. So far there does not appear to have been much response from them.
Once again I have wasted money trying out new exchanges to broaden the market. Thats the last time. No more.
Are you sure? I see a fee of 0.00020639 in the screenshot.
It shows the real value of a bitcoin transaction and the profit of the exchange…

They contacted Maidsafe this past week explaining the problem. The issue is the cost of OMNI transaction fees, which they pay according to the size of the transaction in bytes (not the amount of funds transacted). They say this has caused transactions with fees of even 0.017 BTC for just one transaction. This is because every OMNI transaction comes with BTC dust that increases the size of the transaction. They asked if Maidsafe could disable the dust, which only OMNI could. They also asked when MAID would switch protocols. Although many of us here understand OMNI is a terrible liability, there is no clear path to getting off this chain yet. The long and short of it is: the sooner MAID moves to another chain, the better.
Oops. This will probably happen with bittrex after the OMNI USDT is switched to ERC20! Currently, they combine USDT transactions with MAID, but since there will be no more OMNi USDT, it will become very expensive.
Does anyone know if this is the case?
EDIT: I’m probably mistaken, now I saw that back in 2019 they stopped OMNI USDT in Bittrex

Does everyone who uses OMNI to send Maid have this same fee, or is it only when dealing with this one exchange?
