9-12 years now!?
Now that the network has laumched, is there any timeline for the repayment of these loans?
TGE is only in Jan, canāt happen before that.
They will also have to contact each person to get an address to send the tokens to. They only have currently a OMNI MAID (BTC) address so that is not an option to send tokens to since they are network token and be a ERC20 L2 asset
Hello All. Has anyone received confirmation from anyone at Maidsafe/Autonomi that these loans will be paid back under the terms of the agreement at the TGE in late January? After combing through both the forum and the Discord channel, I couldnāt find an answer about these loans. As of now, I havenāt received any notice via email used during the loan process. If the loan isnāt repaid at the end of January, then when can those who lent their coins expect to be contacted about repayment?
It was mentioned amongst other things like the BTTF shares conversion, and Maidsafe investors conversion
Basically it will happen after TGE.
I am sure that there will be more mention near or soon after TGE.
Everyone at Maidsafe is real busy with many things to do with the launches, updates, and all that
Alright, thanks neo.
IDK ā¦ doesnāt Maidsafe have a large number of omni-maid locked up - that arenāt released to be distributed until launch? I seem to recall that being the case, in which case they could just send those to the loan address and then upon conversion those would be converted too.
I am possibly completely wrong - but that has been in the back of my mind as how they might repay the loan for years.
Part of my reason for thinking this, is that they didnāt ask for any serious contact details in the loan agreement ā¦ it was basically a contract with the loan address.
They know the email address, you had to sign a document IIRC, you got a contract from them, they know the OMNI/BTC address you used.
If you know all of them then Iād say that is good verification. And any disputes if two people know all that then maybe a signed message with your OMNI/BTC private key can resolve it. With all financial contracts it is wise to retain all documentation and relevant ākeysā
With January around the corner and TGE about 4 weeks away, I am wondering if it might not be wise to shake the dust off and give people an update to the plans on how the loan repayment will be happening.
I realise this is yet another focusing on āmoneyā, it is one aspect of TGE planning that hasnāt yet been revealed. Some people have been wondering what will be happening about this.
Wondering if @Bux can make sure the planning is on the ātodo before TGEā list that must be quite long now. If people just know it is there on the list and will be addressed in due time then hopefully it will set aside any concerns some might have about this. Seeing as the minimum was 100K MAID per person then I suspect the ones who loaded to Maidsafe have a significant investment there.
Thank you and I realise this is a āmoneyā type issue and not network issue, sorry about that.
In the end they accepted significantly lower amounts, but that doesnāt change what you are saying here.
I never knew that, I was short of the 100k and was disappointed I couldnāt help out.
100% @bux, just a little mention to let us know we arenāt forgotten in the chaos of launch would be great, thanks in advance ā¦ and thanks for bumping this @neo
cheers
It was meant to be, but in the end:
Thank you for your enquiry regarding the Maidsafe loan opportunity.
You may be aware that the opportunity has been oversubscribed leaving us unable to accept full initial offers.
Instead, we have used a weighting system to apportion the number of MAID we can accept form each applicant.
The number of MAID we can accept from you has been detailed in the loan agreement attached.
So you kinda needed to have 100k to be able to participate, but ended up lending less.
I can guarantee you all nobody will be forgotten, that would be hideous
Legal plans to start reaching out to people starting in early January.
Thanks for the official update @rusty.spork
While I knew that to be the case, its good its been said for others who may have been wondering.
Have updates gone out to those who had participated in the loan opportunity?
I just read in discord that Bux said a few hours ago that the loan people will be given details on how they will receive their ANT soon
So details soonTM
Just received the following update:
Dear Supporter,
Some time ago you participated in a Community Loan using your MAID tokens. We are pleased to write and inform you, that with The Network TGE imminent, and with plans in place for the MaidSafe shareholders to be recognised by The Network - that, as per terms of your loan, your loan can be settled.
Settlement will made via a 1:1.5 Maid:ANT conversion. In order to access your ANT, the amount of MAID loaned will be captured in the data of an NFT. This NFT will, by its nature, be unique to you, holding it will enable you to access and claim your ANT when the same is unlocked from itās Smart Contract.
The NFT will be dropped to the wallet address that you provide and the tokens will be unlocked, and are therefore claimable across the following timeline:
25% Month 3
25% Month 6
25% Month 12
25% Month 18
Please note: there is no expiry regarding redemption, meaning ANT can be claimed by you at a time of your choosing, post it being made available (unlocked). To claim your tokens you need to hold the NFT connected to your claim, in the wallet that you connect to the claim site. The token amount you are due to receive is -REDACTED- ANT
With the above in mind, I would be grateful if you would please confirm to me the wallet address that you would like the NFT to be sent to so that you are able to claim your ANT when itās made available.
The original loan contract does not mention a step wise unlocking of tokens. I understand, that you fear bigger holders dumping too many coins at once, but I think 1) there are other bigger holders eitherway and 2) this is against the contract (cc: @Bux). Iām pretty sure too, that this was not intended originally by @dirvine
Also: The explaination about the process is a little bit unclear. What kind of wallet address are you speaking of? Is it a default ETH address? From briefly looking at the other threads here, I know that other networks are involved now with ANT. Please give a detailed step by step guide (e.g. for MetaMask) how to receive the funds and how to access them.
