I am not sure, but I think that a vault only stores new chunks created after it has been inserted in the network (and this would be a bug). Can @Maidsafe confirm or infirm this?

I am putting a variety of new stuff to the network as we speak so hopefully some will go to @JPL vault if it is working OK.

Do we know roughly how many participants we have?

Yes, we can. I have added the following file in my fork that vault owner can consult: ~/.local/share/safe_vault/root_dir/members.json

It contains the list of Elders (all mine) and Adults (from community). Currently there are 2 adults:

I meant that adults should also receive chunks that were created before they join the network (ofc only chunks that are in their xor vicinity).

What I see is that as I am typing, we have an alive decentralized network of home hosted vaults and clients, that store and share data together :joy:

Ah right, I got you now, I think that will happen only when there is a need of re-location of chunks due to churn events, if no vault left then there is no need to give new vaults any old chunk. Chunks replicas are stored in a subset of vaults not in every vault of a section.

Presumeably until someone puts new content to the network. Its not big enough yet that we can expect any churn - at least I dont think so…

Just for you I will upload a 50Mb folder with 3000+ items. If anything breaks its YOUR fault - OK?
