Is old Drobo N2 worth salvaging for use with Autonomi?

I dusted off my old Drobo N2 the other day (this is the one that is fully network-based, has two independent network interfaces and 5 drive bays) and gave it a go.

I wanted to run it on a spare linux machine, but the Autonomi client wouldn’t recognise the drive, maybe since I had to mount it as a folder via samba?
I think samba is the best I can do without more understanding on either Autonomi and linux filesystems in general.

To be fair, the OS I’m running on it probably isn’t the best choice (I think Zorin OS, can’t remember which environment it’s based on), don’t mind formatting the PC to whatever is most appropriate (though would prefer to stay off windows and lock the system down for security).

I think you’ll be able to get it work somehow. You’ll definitely have to do some work to get the Autonomi Node software to take storage from the Drobo whether you are using the Launchpad software on Windows or Linux or the Linux Node CLI.

But you need to think about whether it is worth it. Unless you have a lot of network bandwidth you probably won’t be able to run enough nodes that you can’t just use the storage on the Windows or Linux computer. A node needs a maximum of 36GB so you can run a good number on just a 1TB drive.
