Is Max Keiser still a thing?

Not been paying too much attention but I havent heard much of him recently - maybe not looking in the right places.

In any case - get this video shared as widely as possible, please.

Here’s his motor

He’s still out there and is a money hungry slimebag. Told everybody to buy silver for years, then Bitcoin, then Maxcoin (how convenient) and then briefly gave people like David an audience because he was obviously an advocate of decentralization (cough) and not looking for ratings. I brought up MaidSafe to him on X a couple of years after this interview and he called me a “failed bitcoiner.” Total sleezeball.

Well… silver looks very interesting at the moment.

He’s still very active. Lives in El Salvador and is a bitcoin maxi now. He doesn’t entertain any altcoins, so unlikely to get him to speak to David again unless Autonomi is clearly very different from the altcoin space, which i think it is but not obvious to those outside the community (yet).

Big podcast doing the rounds at the moment and getting btc exposure to a new audience.

I like this comment from it:

“This episode genuinely shook something in me. I’ve always thought of money as numbers, goals, maybe a little freedom — but hearing Saylor talk about entropy and money as decaying energy really reframed things. It’s wild how deeply broken the system feels when you step back. Inflation isn’t just economic — it’s psychological too. It wears you down, makes long-term thinking feel pointless, and creates this constant low-level anxiety most of us normalize. What hit hardest was how moral decay follows financial decay. You can’t build stability in your life if the foundation itself is crumbling. I never really connected my own stress and poor financial habits with a larger system before. Now it’s like… wow, no wonder so many people feel lost, even when they’re “doing okay” on paper.”

I actually do like Max despite my comments and agree with him about BTC being king as it pertains to finance, but I think shitting on other tech and comparing everything to blockchain is just totally misguided. I don’t think it’s at all impossible to see the value in bitcoin and support alternative technological innovation at the same time. The maxis infuriate me with the cultish lack of curiosity or ability to see anything else as anything but competition.

Good guy. Late bloomer. So cultish now, however, that his firm is 100% bitcoin only. In a recent interview (PBD), he claimed that there was no other tech on the horizon that they would invest in. Not AI, not robotics, nothing. I can understand his bullishness, but not the closed-mindedness.

I think what most people don’t realise about the bitcoin maxi’s is that they are lazer focused on the historic problem with money. That has become their life mission and they believe bitcoin is the first perfect sound money.

Btc maxi’s aren’t closed minded about other technology, but they see no reason to invest in a token that will keep losing value when priced in bitcoin long term. Many bitcoin maxi’s talk about Ai’s potential. They also praise the tech of Nostr. But as the past 10 years have proven, the majority of altcoins are either a scam or bad businesses. Also, if you are a public figure you risk ridicule and lawsuits if you promote a bad business, which most of the alt projects are. Bitcoin isn’t a business, there is no central authority.

The closest any of project has got to bitcoin is ethereum but the decentralisation of it is starting to look more centralised when Vitalik can convince the network to change things so drastically and so often.

Even Autonomi falls into this bracket at the moment, but i hope it will eventually evolve into an open source project like bitcoin… Decentralised with no leader.. Just different entities proposing changes but difficult to get full consenesus unless enough nodes agree with the upgrade. I think if Autonomi works at scale and stays decentralised and secure, many btc maxi’s will acknowledge and use this amazing tech… It follows a similar ideology of freedom and self sovereignty.

For what it’s worth i think Max is a bit of a tit, but have to give him credit for his call on btc so early.

Bitcoin isn’t tech, it is money / digital gold with no 3rd party risk. Only gold has similar attributes. Bitcoin isn’t competing with other altcoins, bitcoin is competing with gold, the dollar and central banks.

I first heard about bitcoin from many of my libertarian friends back when bitcoin was super cheap. Like $9-$30. I blew it off because a lot of these people were into barter for ideological purposes. While I found that laudable, I just didn’t take it seriously as I knew it was not a solution for a fully functional economy. Long story short, I got a reality check after the first halving and read the white paper. Max is a dick, which is why I like him. I just think it is retarded to not support people like David. You can be a maxi on money and not be a complete and total asshole.

Yup. Had a huge head start and should have flipped the halvings. Bought into the BS that the alpha was due for immediate release looking for leverage and got suckered into a decade long trap with a token worth less than I paid for it.

ahh yes the barter days where you bartered for weed on silk road for ideological reasons

looks like you need to go have a word with those friends of yours if they had convinced you to buy a bag of BTC at those prices you would be a rich man.

I actually sold weed in high school, caught a DUI shortly after my dad died in 2006 and refused to turn myself in so I could follow Ron Paul’s '08 run. I did six months in jail and got out in early '09 and just couldn’t get on board with it until I saw the economics.

6 months for a bit of weed that is pretty stern

Not weed. Extreme DUI. I rammed my BMW 525i into three cars ahead of me after blacking out.

Agreed. There was 11 other people in all three other cars. I was the only one to get injured.
