Introduce yourself

My name is Emanuele and I discovered crypto currencies only in the early 2017. I have been trying to get info and understand how and why to invest into MaidSafe.

I don’t know anything about brokerage, finance and the likes. I even have difficulties installing the necessary tools and I’m still trying to figure out how to invest money into this project and protect my investment.

Hopefully someone will be so kind to point me what to download and install and how to become a part of the crew. I actually believe in this project more than on others despite many crypto currencies have had a faster increase in value.

That being said Hello

I’m Robb Sands, an American in Scotland, so pardon my occasional lack of “u’s” in spelling, and redneck twang in pronounciations

My background is an odd mix of technical and marketing. I’ve managed software teams in American, telecom engineers in Britain, done quality assurance, implementation, business analysis, product management - all in the Microsoft world.

Realising marketing was intuitive, and necessary, I’ve spent a number of years managing marketing teams, running my own digital agency and am never really sure which is more interesting, marketing or development. It’s all a reason to wake up in the morning!

I’m a member of various IETF groups, have donated years of my life to charities and enjoy work most when there’s a cause that needs my participation, and that of others too.

I’ve been fascinated by cybercurrency, mined bitcoin and a few variations, just to see how it all worked. Bought a few, made a couple of quid and should have bought more.

For me, MaidSAFE, the project, the network, apps, currency, despite me not knowing all the ins and outs, has my attention. It strikes me as one of those really massive fireworks displays that you’re just about to light. It’s not exploding everywhere yet, but it just gives that hair standing up on the back of your neck feeling, in anticipation.

I’d love to see how far the boundaries can be pushed, figure out how I can make a bit of money in the process, and end up feeling satisfied that I’ve been a part of the effort.

This seems like a great project, a cool group of people involved and active, and I’m looking forward to contributing wherever I can…

Hi, I’m Dan from Little Rock, AR. I call myself a computer enthusiast because I’ve been dabbling on PCs since they came out. Unfortunately I’m also ADHD so while I enjoy trying anything and everything computer related I rarely master anything. I ran across MaidSafe while updating my knowledge of cryptocurrencies. The technology has the potential to be the future of the internet.
I look forward to watching it develop and hope my lack of technical savvy will make me a valuable product tester as the average end user.

Hi, I am Harvindar from Malaysia. Have been following Maidsafe since July last year. It is exciting to see the developments and am looking forward to it go live. It has the potential to reset the internet as we know. What it will offer is needed. Happy to know about the project.

Hello,

My name is Brian Jolly and I am a mechanic, initially as aircraft and later adding industrial machinery. I am fascinated with the idea of a decentralized and gateway-less internet. I have followed MaidSafe and it’s work for the better part of the past year and have been excited to see how it is progressing. I really believe that this technology will revolutionize the digital world. I hope to eventually be involved in some small way and I am very interested in the Alpha 2 release.

Hello everybody,

My name is Mark Peers, and I work as a controls support engineer in the glamorous world of Airport Baggage Handling. I have been interested in blockchain technology for about 6 months and I am keen to keep learning about anything related. I joined this forum because I am really interested in maidsafe and also have a peaked interest in project decorum, and this seems to be the most active place to find some information on that particular project.
Happy to be here!

Hi! My name is Soton. I’ve lived on four different continents, but currently call the US home where I work as a management & strategy consultant. I first heard about crypto back in 2010 when I read about Bitcoin while sitting in my cube at an ad agency (used to work as a brand strategist). I thought it was an interesting concept, but couldn’t have imagined what it has and will become. These days, I’m more interested in learning about the applications the technology (block chain, and now data chain, it seems) enables as well as the applications that support the ecosystem, than crypto as a currency (but that’s still awesome too). I’ve been following Maidsafe from a distance for a bit, and am excited to see what comes next.

Hello! This is really exciting to me, the whole idea gives me hope for our potential future. Great to know there is a community involved in this project, hope I can help somehow, although I am not a programmer. Still a fan!

Hey!

I’ve been following MaidSafe, and SAFE Network for a little under a year now. My interest arrived predominantly via the Rust community. I’m a full time software developer mostly in the ruby space. I started following Rust over three years ago. I’ve recently become more active in security, and privacy oss. I think the SAFE Network has great potential that I’m excited to explore. Ideally I’d like to begin helping out with some of the os issues where I can. But first I want to familiarize myself with the community. So here I am!

Hello My name is Kai. I am from the Netherlands and currently occupied as data scientist in a hospital. I am following the Maidsafe project in silence for about 2 years now. I am very enthousiastic about the ability to create decentralized applications on the safe network. I hope to help the safe ecosphere flourish with nice applications. Off topic, I am very interested in testing the network. Is there a possibility to claim access to the next alpha release?

Hi All,
My name is Paul Cohen and I’ve been using bitcoin on & off for about two years now. I never really used it as a money-making tool, I was just curious about it.
More recently, the pennies I had left in my wallet had turned into almost $40 bucks, so I decided to invest a bit on ETH. Again, rather the financial prospect, what got me into was the whole “smart contract” and the possibility of creating some real change in society. I’m still not sure how to properly explain how Blockchain works to those around me, but I know it’s going to be huge.
Most importantly, what brought me here is an insight, which ironically was brought on by the show Silicon Valley (Season 4) in which Hendrick talks about a decentralized internet. Now I think that is the Internet taken to the next level. So here am I, I don’t know exactly what to look forward to, or how I’ll be able to contribute but I sure am excited to have found a community of like-minded folks! Cheers everyone.
