[How To]: Buy/Move/Store OMNI MAID :safe: hardware and software wallets

I’ve only tested with Trezor One…

Ok, I’ll try it with the model T in the next day or two and report back.

I added detailed instructions in the OP on how to BACK UP THE KEYS FROM OMNIWALLET:

Trezor question here. I logged into my wallet on https://wallet.trezor.io/, and sent my MAID to the newly/fresh generated address. The transaction shows on omniexplorer, and has already been confirmed. However when I log in to OMNI Trezor, i can’t seem to access the fresh address. It only shows the address I used previously. Does anyone here know how I can access the fresh address? I am using the downgraded version trezor one firmware 1.9.0, and have had no problems before accessing/sending MAID with the old address. EDIT (Solved) → Forgot this fresh address now also needed at least 8,000 Satoshis of BTC in order to access my MAID

This seems to be a good alternative: https://mobile.twitter.com/tryProkey/status/1364861829172748289

There’s a thread about that ProKey here

Have the audits come out and is it open source now? If not, then it is not a good alternative until it is proven to be safe.

I previously stored most of my Maid on my Trezor Model T and was happy that i could access the balance there. I never tried to send any. Now that I have built up a few more MAID on Bittrex, its time to move what is not for gmbling – err err trading on to the Trezor.

Now when I try to connect

I get told I need to update the bridge software. I already have the latest version 2.0.27.

This is rubbish, my Trezor is 100% useable for everything but MAID

I can see my Trezor perfectly well and can use it to see and interact with my BTC and ETH accounts. But its been a while since I gazed on my small pile of MAID.

Can anyone confirm they have had recent success with OmniTrezor, and a Model T?

I saw it done a few months ago. They used brave browser. You might also try firefox.

I just tested with Trezor one v1.9.4 and chrome/metamask (on linux mint 19), I successfully enter the site, all addresses where I have MAID are detected.

I get this when I access my theta through Brave. Not through Firefox. Always asks new to update bridge. Rather annoying but in the end it doesn’t work.

I have not had a chance to do so, yet, but I did finally get my firmware to upgrade, which I previously had issues with.

So, I will try to get mine tested this weekend.

Where are you getting the version number from, Dimitar? Do you mean the firmware version? I just upgraded a day or two back. I see tonight there is another upgrade.

Do I need to roll back to an earlier firmware?

Yes, I’m talking about the firmware. 1.9.4 is the latest for the One model. I think you should try Chrome or FireFox :dragon:

I’m using a Model T. Where can you check the firmware version? Had a quick look in Trezor Suite but I must have missed it…

Hmm

Have you been rejecting the offers to upgrade the firmware? 2.3.6 is the latest now for the Model T.

No, I just found the picture on the internet because I’m too lazy to take my Trezor out of its hidden wall place for a second time today.

So that firmware version number is simply an old picture from the web?

So my question now has to be…

For those who have successfully checked their MAID balance on a Trzor Model T, what version is your firmware? When did you last check your balance and when did you last upgrade the firmware - and to what version?

I will try this on Firefox or Chrome and see if I get any difference but it has worked until a few weeks ago on Brave. Like you Dimitar, I try to keep my Trezor in its hidey-hole, its not connected to the PC 24/7.
