Yes there is a bunch waiting to be marked off on the site (just needs the actual code updated on the site). This will happen very soon (its in the queue for update) These are the points we have completed (point 1 is in final debug/test, will be complete as the list is updated though). I think this all helps as strong solid progress is made, it also allows people to see the speed or whatever as a real thing. We will work hard to keep this nice and fresh.
Reworking of all vault accounts to reduce account transfer, memory requirements and ability to handle much higher churn levels
Drive version 2.0 completion
RUDP version 1 bug fixes and improvements
Account transfer simplification to handle higher churn levels
Refactor code for quid pro quo working making way for safecoin
Enhance Network Visualiser to enable real time debugging and tracking of test messages
Commencement of JSON friendly Network File System interface
Yes I fight for the team in MaidSafe to use the public list, but many of them really do not want to as they discuss a huge amount on there. I personally would publish everything, but I think its an issue for many folks. I wish it were not as the internal list is really full of many in depth discussions that would help folk as they get deeper in the code for sure. Perhaps we can even start adding community folks there like SF and Montreal as a first step. If it do not add much noise and was helpful (it is a fast moving list) then it may help us, I believe it would. It also shows how we all react with each other and I think it shows real logic and zero management stifling nonsense, so works well.
I would love to have insights into the ongoing design and implementation decisions. I’ll probably be there mostly as an observer for a while (and I promise to keep to the signal-to-noise ratio as high as possible). I could also participate in the outgoing communication effort by discussion some of the design decisions as concepts and algorithms are presented in the lectures.
I think the team could make some decent beer money, making SAFEnet Tshirts available in marketplaces like etsy…cause somebody else will end up doing it for pure profit. Maybe you don’t mind that as long as the message is disseminated…is there stance on this?
I don’t mind, I like distributing the project, but if we can (I know) it would be great if it was all good people who did take up these things. Etsy is a great idea actually. Lets see if Shona can kick something off, the pods as well, I wonder if we can somehow create a group of pods around the world in a project like that and have them all benefit as a group. We tend to try and support the Chernobyl kids for a couple days a year so even if we got some cash to make their days better then great. Its the foundation that does that so kinda nice and they are always so grateful so we get our selfish feel good factor
Good idea @chrisfostertv! I’ll see with @frabrunelle what we can do in Montreal. I would totally be willing to reserve a significant % of ‘profits’ to redistribute money to other pods and route back money to MaidSafe (who could in turn send it to Chernobyl children ;-)).
If we convert payments to Bitcoins we could even make the whole process fully transparent so that Tshirt buyers could indeed check that their money is going in these different places.
I still think something like location specific versions of the shirts would be cool… a different design per pod and enthusiasts could collect them all!
