That’s risky @Blindsite2k and I will need our game around 24/7. We can’t have realms stopping us from joining. We can’t have downed servers randomly preventing us from having fun.
I think we need a super intense app called SAFEserver…
It uses the SAFEnet and directly connects to people who need fast connections like for gaming.
Can it be done?
The best of both worlds, just give up some security maybe?
If that is possible, then that would be a big bonus. It needs a reputation on each server because some servers could be really awful. Professionals rather have a central high quality servers than decentralized random selected servers.
Anyone here who’s a software engineer that’s actively working on any simpler games? If you would like any help in design/monetization/virality/user engagement, please let me know.
Also, if you’re a software engineer that knows the maidsafe platform and wants to work on a simple gaming project with me, please message me or email me at nharan81@gmail.com
Best,
Neil
Dude you need to read the thread.
I did. I was referring to other people who may also be working on games that didn’t post on here.
im soo fangirling over this i have to playyyyyy!!!

there is a theory the nintendo nx will allow owners to rent there nx cpu/gpu power for nintencoins or nintenbucks or whatever
Glad you’re enjoying it @_Cake . If you know any game developers or artists let us know.
Actually is there anyone that would know how to code and be able to help work on this project?
sorry but i dont know anyone
BTW: so this is like no mans sky but with player created content instead of generated content?
example: i can click a + button while im exploring the universe and create and name a planet… almost like little big planet
Pretty much that’s the idea I proposed yeah. Every “planet”, every species, every object, every quest, every social group, everything would be player generated. Moreover the UI would also be customizable as would the camera angles so you could switch between 1st person, 3rd person, RTS and other such modes.
yeah, about that certain views might not fit the planet’s “Style”
you could also add a variation option for planet creators like how in no mans sky there is a base for all creatures and it adds and adjusts the base creature/item/whatever randomly
Might be handy if you wanted to populate an entire planet full with an ecology worth of critter mobs. Create a base species then program in some random variations for it, like you have on Spore to some degree. Planet populates itself.
yeah but you can also connect to the internet and get (mostly) dick creatures… anyway you could pay for “packs” they give you permission to use the person who made the pack’s base like a incredibly hard to make skyscraper base or something
Lol yes you might run into a species of wandering phalluses but then again you could just make a point of wiping them out. Also I very much doubt players will require payment for their content as they’re rewarded by the system the more people download their stuff. It wouldn’t be in their self interest to limit who can download their content.
You know if we’re talking planet and ecology simulation as part of the game then we really should throw in a weather simulator. Like storms, earthquakes, volcanoes, ocean patterns, the works.
As we’re talking about it all I’m thinking all these different genres will kind of fit together. You’ll have people that just love building and maintaining planets and creatures, who basically love their simulation games. And will go around building the universe. Then you’ll have the 1st person shooter types that play close up and might travel from planet to planet or play in a single campaign on a single planet, but it’ll be in a very intimate setting. Then you’ll have the 3rd person, similar but perhaps they’ll explore a bit more. RTS might explore more as they might look for more species and definitely more terrains to play on.
But however people play I think different play styles will fill different roles within the content creation ecosystem. People who do different things will want to create different things.
yeah i was thinking something like the nintendo eshop and psn store
or the animal crosing new leaf feature (if you walk around with your 3ds you get points you can spend on in game items like a mario hat or a master sword prop)
or you could use in game currency that you can convert to safecoin but not back so its fair and only for the people who are creative.
also this will make people more creative!
what about spam… like companies paying creators to write there names on there planets
Do you think planet Coca Cola would be very popular or that it would be downloaded much? Maybe a planet Disney. Why stop this kind of thing. Forget a Disney park, visit Disney Planet! (And then drop an army of zerg on it from orbit. Oh no Mickey is being infested by Queen of Blades… and enjoying it! And Pluto just got mutalated by a zergling.)
Nothing stops advertising save for people refusing to use content that contains it. If your content contains advertising it can be labeled as such, or labeled as spam and less people will download it. Or people may just delete it out of hand. But there are many companies and brands people love. I have a friend who is absolutely obsessed with Tinkerbell. Another that loves everything Iron Man. Personally I like the Dresden Files. So while one could create Russian sex enhancement pharmasutical spam creatures and spam them all over a planet’s surface or sneak them in as some unremarkable object they would likely be deleted as soon as they were detected. And since revenue is created through downloads and use then the less people use one’s content the less profit is made the more one’s content is deleted and people refuse to use it.
I really like the idea , I have been desperately waiting for an idea like this to come to fruition for a chance to play, help, make or even invest in, a truly user generated game / economy , with a coin that has value that has real world uses inside and outside of the game with great digital property ownership.
The economy is basically the interactions and the influences of us as people on our surroundingss our reactions and actions we take on a massive scale. Having certain places on planets becoming population dense zones that set up and develop trading areas because of this population density , Property prices being effected and going up as more people move in.
The ability for people to make a living wage by doing tasks in the game. Having companies having a small location inside the game , This is crypto , you could have xbox having a designer create their own shop on a planet or near a busy population dense city, They may wish to not buy a whole planet …rather than attract people using money it is easier to set up location around already population dense areas, and you could literally walk their virtual store, Purchase an xboxone or some product you need, with the money you made in-game and have it shipped to your address at home.
This would bring me to an idea i have been playing with for a while to cross that barrier in a more effective manner , which i think would benefit any game being made in such a way.
That is 3d printers and the ability to have a store in game that can print out little emblems(that you can design yourself or premade in a 3d modelling program, little trinkets , avatar badges, small 3d models of your armor or clothes or player ,
You can walk into a store inside the game , order something and have it delivered right to your door , using the in-game currency
To add to the discussion about companies.
This would make the game so much more stronger, increase users and strengthen the economy of the game , while providing more stability to the currency .
If someone names and sponsors a company and people dislike it, they will simply move planet, populations would slowly decline , trade would become less, less money would be made so property prices would fall, this would cause migrations of huge proportions of people moving to other planets or towns or cities , thus causing influence on their economies just like we see in reality.
