I have a friend who’s a Factom Dev. We met when I competed in one of Factom’s hackathons a while back. Depending on how this week’s check-in on MAID ERC20 progress goes, I’ll reach out to him…
I personally feel such fund would be a great idea, but I would recommend not involving Maidsafe in this. This may sound weird at first, but hear me out.
In the last few months I’ve noticed the struggle Maidsafe is in being a UK company. Paying for listings is already something that they’re not happily doing. But most of the exchanges include a few months of marketmaking in their listing fee, and others demand you to provide a marketmaker before even considering a listing application. This is simply not something Maidsafe can approve/initiate operating under UK law.
I personally wouldn’t know how to safely manage this fund by trusted community members, but I feel its worth taking a look at to avoid being so limited in use of the fund.
We only need an ERC20 token and we will be fine, see PDC with “all” 70 holders how much liquidity there is:

Privacy. Security. Freedom
you might have a point there. it could be risky for MaidSafe to promote their own token etc. I imagine when the time comes we have a conversation with Maidsafe on how to best do this. launching this as a 100% community effort is a possibility, i have no doubt we’re capable of doing this independently if need be.
Yes, maidsafe just needs to focus on launch imo. Any distraction with maid or erc20 is a hindrance. If there is any way the BGF could assist launch and code development, it gets us where we all want to be a lot faster. Finding the right subprojects to sponsor is challenging though, since non-maidsafe devs would need a lot of communication with maidsafe to be effective, and this extra communication can be taxing if not done at the right time or in the right way.
Maybe through the CEP, it could become real easy to onboard Brave users, in the future.
There are like 400K bat holders at the moment
You could send each 0.25 MAID erc20 and it would be enough for them to create an account and upload data on the SAFE Network, just to get a taste. These users are also more privacy minded, by default.
Of course it would only make sense to do this when the network is up and running or else the erc20 MAID, would just be seen as spam.
have we tried KuCoin exchange? Just signed up. Seems decent.
