SAFE-FS Gets Cat-ified: Sofia Cats on the First Autonomi Upload Portal
The purpose of this topic is to track, day by day, my experience as an end user uploading photos of cats from Sofia to Autonomi through SAFE-FS.
SAFE-FS is the first Autonomi portal that allows users to upload data directly to the network via a simple web app. Endless thanks to @whiteout2 for the wonderful app!
Day 1
2 cats Upload Cost: 0.11$ in ETH, 0.0000022 ANT Size: 602,2 KiB
From an address funded only with ANT, the app shows an error and the upload fails. When the address has both ANT and ETH, the upload works successfully. Another problem is that the app sends 2 transactions at once.
If you can enable uploading with only ANT, it would highlight one of the key advantages of your Portal — the ability to direct your nodes to a Portal-generated address and upload public files to the network without needing to use a centralized exchange to buy ETH for fees.
Day 2
1 cats Upload Cost: 0.01$ in ETH, 0.0000020 ANT Size: 165,4 KiB
Upload: Successful on the first attempt
File extension: .jpg
Data Address: 47a804c83df2e6a58ae02796c367cc3a87efc2937749e4c73760b7992469cb04
Compared to Dave, uploading public files through the safe-fs portal is a pleasure! The difference is brutal in feel, with a high probability that people who just want to upload and share something via Autonomi will use a portal…
Day 4
1 cats Upload Cost: 0.01$ in ETH, 0.00000019 ANT Size: 252,8 KiB
Upload: Successful on the first attempt
