btw is it worth it to use brave? what is the income of a avid web browsing person and what is the income of tips for a creator/anything that accepts it? is it nothing compared to lets say providing liquidity?
if there is somewhere a thread about bat please point me to it!
It depends on growth of BAT token value more than anything. I started using Brave shortly after it came out and so the value of what I’ve earned is really quite nice because BAT token value went up a lot over that time period. If you start using now, it’s hard to say. You don’t get very much of the ad revenue, but if the BAT token goes up a lot more you could end up with a fair value for your clicking time.
Brave ads don’t have to be turned on though for you to take advantage of it’s other nice features. Overall I find it to be one of the best browsers out there right now.
Brave is for security and adlessness if you want it. I make an effort to clicjk on the ads that interest me and make a total of about 3-4 BAT per month over my desktop laptop and phone. I usually just send them on to @Dimitar.
The big win is the security, knowing you are not being tracked - if you stick with DuckDuckGo. If a number of us switched to Brave and sent the tips to @Dimitar then all these small amounts would add up to something worthwhile each month.
With Brave and a pi-hole I generally see only the ads I choose to see. Some sites whine about ad-blockers, sod them.
Yes but last time I tried using Brave it ended up asking for money. So I ended up switching back to Firefox. Also Brave doesn’t seem to have as many addons.
In my limited experience, any Chrome add-on works with Brave. I tend to use very few add-ons as I generally don’t trust them.
Having said that I do use Metamask and it Just Works with Brave.
No, I didn’t. I didn’t feel like messing around with it too much. I did a search, and apparently it’s a common problem. If I recall correctly, some official Brave site just told people it was “normal” and nothing to worry about. So I stopped worrying, and went back to using Firefox.
When I tried Brave earlier I had problems with their wallet. That time I did raise an issue, but got tired of waiting for it to be fixed. I may be wrong, but the Brave project doesn’t feel like it’s ready for daily use yet.
