Thank you so much for you help guys ! And erwin on discord, Iāve so far successfully got 300 running on a hetzner auction server which is costing peanuts to run!
I promise to feel guilty for at least 2 minutes - sorry
RealLife has hit me with another GRQ scheme that I am beholden to evaluate for a very good friend so I need to try to find the scam. Cos there HAS to be oneā¦
If sounds too good to be true, it almost certainly is. My job for next day or two is to evaluate āalmostā
Oh and turn myself into a HighFreqTradingBot expert as wellā¦
Hi frequency trading bot with high leverage Iām guessing equals great way to end up bankrupt.
I am assured on a stack of OāReilly books that we will only be using someone elses money. Right now I m trying to work out if that someone else knows about this
would it not be better just to steal it yourselves at least then one of you would have the money instead of the forex broker ?
ethical trading just steal it fair and square
@rusty.spork @JimCollinson Can you looking into this and fix the document if needed
Dunno if this will apply, but you ever heard of the football scam.
(initial count of mailings not correct, forgot exact number but the scam idea is not based on initial number, it just has to be large enough)
This was decades ago and took a lot of peopleās money.
The same can be done with forex scams and emails with programmed generation it is easy to buy a mailing list of millions of people who ever searched currency conversion.
Yeah thats an old one
I have a minefield to work throughā¦
I found time to start one of my Dell OptiPlex 7060 USFF / Intel Core i5-8500 / 16GB / 500GB nvme. This is the load with 120 nodes, I ordered another 16 GB of RAM and I will see if I can raise them to 250 nodes:

Theyāre capable little boxes, right? The limit is definitely storage space on the 2.5" drives. At least for used gear at a good price.
CPU wise, I reckon theyād be good for 250+ pretty easily. Even the i5 6500T in the older ones.
Iām collecting used 8GB lenovo M910Q at the moment and slapping in old 2TB 2.5" drives. A pretty good fit for 8GB RAM and they can duck under Ā£100 with the right deals.
Would be great to get in with a few corps who churn these devices and just want them gone. They could be converted into supporting the network easily!
You most certainly mean 2tb drives - right?
Yes - updated!
To add, its a nice wee package though. Small, quiet and happily sits on/under/next to a home router.
If they were just plugin and go, it would take the setup pain and give 24x7 node running. Great for less technical folks who donāt want to mess about with this stuff.
How 120 nodes with 500GB nvme?
The network doesnāt store much data atm (relative to potential capacity), so per node storage requirement is low too.
i thought i had to keep 35GB free for each node.
how can i tell how much is being used?
Just look at how much free space you have on your hard drive. On the computer you are commenting on, 120 nodes take up 140 GB of space:

thanks. After I wrote that i realised i could just look at the size of the autonomi folder.
Someone at Discord estimated that 2 TB of data would cost $750 in blockchain fees. I donāt expect storage space to be an issue in the coming yearsā¦

It will be nice when storage fees go entirely to the network (miners et al) via native token rather than being consumed by blockchain tx overhead.
