Saw a link to this pop up on the discord from someone asking if ‘Auto Drive’ was how you upload to Autonomi. Anyone know anything about these guys? Looks like they launched their AI3 token in August. Sounds like they’re trying to do something very similar. Here is their main app page:
Their forum is eerily familiar:
And here is their roadmap they published last week from their very own ‘Jim’ (imposter! )
I saw this a few weeks back (Autonomys network - AI infrastructure and permanent data storage) and initially though it could be a clone due to quite a few similarities, but on closer inspection could see there are big differences between Autonomys and Autonomi… in substance if not in name!
But, it sounds interesting. Modifying chia to store something useful instead of wasteful seems smart, and having compute built in may be an advantage.
It’s good that there are a few projects working on these problems (Autononys, Arweave, Autonomi… and probably some projects that don’t start with ‘A’?)
I sometimes wonder if collaboration could be more productive than competition, but when architectures and possibly team cultures are significantly different, I’m not sure if that could work well.
I tested running their node, allocated space in advance, so the 145.145 PB Space Pledged in their block explorer are real, it loaded the CPU quite a bit and I stopped it.
