Is the theory that the price is going down because entities with a large number of nodes are collecting a large number of ANTs as a ‘reward’ and then market selling?
If so what would be the rationale behind this? Is it to cover the cost of running the nodes, or something else?

Price is determined by the balance of sellers vs buyers on aggregate.
Any entity, large or small, will have different rationale’s for what they’re doing (selling, holding, buying etc).
The price is going down because more people want to sell vs buy at the moment, and the emissions to node operators will make up part of this sell pressure as it’s increasing token supply. But, the volumes aren’t big, so once demand picks up it could quickly turn around.
I expect some people selling at these prices will have regrets when the market turns in the other direction!

yeah - while the last significant dips have been caused by people who burned maid just a few days ago and then dumped them in one go onto the market because they seem to have been afraid others might do the same and just be faster …
here the one first selling gradually and then panicking + dumping everything at once …

Why they are panic i am buying more and more ant… We are on new exchange. I am buying more ant while dipping… I am in loose i am collecting for my baby future.in future i dont have to regret but i am little worry rewards and nodes is not working

you can filter for high volume trades
then you can follow the TX link … and in the case of the 150,543 coin sell you can even see on Omni Explorer - The block explorer for Omni Token, Tether, USDT, MaidSafe and Omni Layer Tokens / Cryptocurrencies <<< the burn TX burning precisely that amount not long ago and where it came from …

How many of these nodes hold ANY records?
How many of these nodes earned ANYTHING in the last 72 hours?
nearly 24M nodes mayl impress some folks and makes a nice marketing graphic

a) who you are trying to fool with it?
b) how many of the team believe these fantasies?
