Announcement: Antnode Upgrade 0.3.3

:loudspeaker: Announcement: Antnode Upgrade 0.3.3 :loudspeaker:

Please follow these instructions to upgrade your nodes to the newest version to ensure the best performance and stability for @everyone! Check out the Github Release with changelog details.

For Node Launchpad Users:

  1. Open Node Launchpad v0.5.3 if you are not already on that version
  2. Press O to access the Options screen.
  3. Then, press Ctrl + U, and hit Enter. This will upgrade your nodes. Upgrading can take several minutes for each node. Please don’t close the app or stop your nodes during this process.
  4. Your nodes will now stop
  5. Press Ctrl + S to start your nodes again

For CLI Tool Users:

  1. If you’re using the CLI tool, please update and upgrade. Run the update first: antup update
  2. Then run the upgrade: antctl upgrade --interval 60000

For ALL Users:

  • Please start your nodes gradually — especially if you plan on running multiple nodes.
  • Be conservative with CPU allocation to maintain stability

Binary Versions:

  • antnode: v0.3.3
  • antctld: v0.11.7
  • antctl: v0.11.7
  • ant: v0.3.3
  • nat-detection: v0.2.15
  • node-launchpad: v0.5.3

I suggest that everyone upgrade ASAP since it reduces your bandwidth per node. Reduces upload bandwidth a LOT. Now if you watch the upload amount, you can see when a chunk goes up because it jumps up a lot.

Suggest not running so many nodes you are maxing out upload bandwidth while relatively idle because once chunks start being sent (churning/people downloading) you will just clog up upload link.

CPU usage is down, memory is better too.

The bandwidth usage reduction is dramatic! This is what my 5 nodes have done over the last 24 hours:-

I attribute the gentle slope downwards to other people upgrading nodes and reducing the load on mine. Then the sudden drop was the upgrade last night.

Number of connections from each antnode is also reduced. It used to be about 2,000 to 5,000 for the 5 nodes but is now sort of 400 to 700.

I might - gently - push to another 5 nodes.

When I upgraded from the previous version, I lost all my attos. Is it supposed to do that?

Yes the nodes when restarted start from zero balance but your attos are still there in your wallet

Check the blockchain and they will still be there. Launchpad is both unreliable and resets on restart, it only shows what the nodes told it. The nodes also are only showing earnings occasionally. IE only one of the 3 nodes that earned a atto for a particular chunk is showing it.

tl;dr check the blockchain and LP resets count and is unreliable also concerning earnings
