Alright I’m in DIRE need. I bought all my maidsafecoins through masterxchange with multiple Bitcoin addresses. I want to send the maidsafecoins to an omniwallet address. I have a omniwallet id and Bitcoin address in that wallet. From what I’m reading I need to get the private key from the Bitcoin address that purchased the maidsafecoins? Now is that the original(multiple) addresses that I used?? Or is it the deposit address at masterxchange? If the latter how in sams hell do I get the private key off masterxchange because there seems to be no feature. Very very very confused, please help.
I’ll send you a PM to help you.
Thank you @Melvin!!!
Read: “I’ll send you a PM with instructions to send them all to my address.”
You get your privkey from Omniwallet.
Then you can download Omni for Windows, “import” your Omniwallet private key(s) and send the coins to Polo.
FYI, It took MasterxChange about 4 days to send my Maidsafecoins to Poloniex. Lots of withdrawal requests I’m sure. So don’t be too alarmed if it takes them a while.
From masterxchange to omniwallet was (less than) 2 days in my case. Last Monday in the afternoon I initiated my withdrawal, this early morning they had already arrived.
Apologies for renewing an old thread… But I thought in BTC there is no “from” address per here: From address - Bitcoin Wiki
Is that not right? I used electrum for the presale purchase. I assume the big banner about the mastercoin exchange closing only applies if someone some how moved their coins to that exchange?
Yes, only applies if you moved your coins to masterxchange after receiving them during the crowdsale.
Just to clarify it is the masterxchange exchange that is closing.
Poloniex exchange tells us that MSC/Mastercoin has been rebranded to OMNI/Omni
So I need to get the private keys from my Electrum wallet? What if that wallet has Bitcoin in addition to being used for maidsafe coin presale? Should I send that btc to another address? Again am confused because I thought the “from” concept was not one btc adheres to…
The only ‘from’ address someone could have mentioned (I don’t see it in @happybeing’s post) is the address on which the coins are right now. Wallets can have multiple addresses in them, and your maidsafecoins are on one particular address inside the wallet.
You ask if you need to get the private keys from your Electrum wallet but I don’t know what you want to do with your coins.
Thanks Melvin. Sorry if I’m being brain dead here - I guess my issue is I see the transaction in my wallet history using one of the “change” addresses as inputs. I assume I can lookup that address on omni (or wasn’t there a spreadsheet also tracking this) to verify that’s the address associated with my maidsafe coins? That’s the address whose private key I need to do anything with the maidsafe coins? At the moment I’m just trying to verify ownership and ensure I’m backing up any related info… Not going to move anything if I don’t have to but trying to grok it all prompted by the exchange shutdown.
No problem, thanks for the extra info. On omnichest.info you can see your maidsafecoin balance (fill in your public key (receiving address).
If you want to transact your maidsafecoins you can use omniwallet.org (on chrome) to do that. You do need to have the private key of the address the coins are on to do that.
OK so my balance in MaidSafeCoin (#3) [I] and SPT is my presale purchase? Yay! Thanks everyone. Wanted to triplecheck because I think there is so much potential here.
SPT stands for Smart Property Token, and Maidsafecoin is a SPT according to the Master protocol. If you only see one transaction (or if you’ve never received any other SPT) than that’s the crowdsale transaction.
