So, I have found that joining with social movements is a beautiful way of getting things done. My contribution to collaborative action in the "world social forum"-movement has mainly been organizing meetings and conferences using Open Space Technology and other participatory approaches. I have also done some programming using open source stuff, but I not as skilled with this as other people... =)
Right now I am in between projects thinking about what to do next. Since I have spent many years in research environments with financial systems as one of my main interests the answer is easy - combining transdisciplary research with practical contributions to the cryptocurrency space!
So to explain more about my skills I thought to introduce myself as I enter into the cryptocurrency space. I started learning about bitcoin and related topics in 2013 during a period when I was busy renovating a house. I used resting time to listen to all sorts of podcasts and reading white papers. In 2008 I entered into a very serious and deep relationship with my now ex wife.
Prior to that I had been active in the social forum movement and the global justice movement doing some programming work and applying my knowledge from academia in improving the world. I was part of organising a local social forum in the university town where I was resident and I was a student of engineering, development and environment studies and sociology. This combination proved very good for me in getting a perspective on the very difficult situation we face together on this planet. I spent most of my active time learning about the world and it´s problems. After a while all the problems seemed overwhelming and I choose to spend some years off learning about the world affairs, instead focusing on building a family and some stable platform for my self.
I worked with renovating a house and some taking care of mainly autistic people also educating my self about special needs education and the science of consciousness and participatory approaches to social science or so called natural sociology.
One of the basic problems I had identified during studying environment and development issues where the inherent unfairness and instability of the monetary and financial systems. So learning about bitcoin and later other technologies based on cryptography made me very relieved and happy. Now there was finally all the technological components in place to make the world enter a trajectory of sustainable development. So having the experience of getting lovely work done in collaboration in the social forum movement, I decided that the movement for me in which all of my skills can come into play is the transdisciplinary movement. In this emerging space people who share values and ways of working can come together to somehow solve at least the most pressing systemic problems facing us today...
