Cool. Seems messages arenā€™t getting through for me yet. Iā€™ve sent multiple messages to both of you. Maybe we should wait for a full release due to ongoing bug-squashing :slight_smile:

Nice to have a sneak peek into the UI etc even if itā€™s not quite ready to goā€¦ this will be leagues ahead of any P2P messaging app Iā€™ve used before.

TBPH I wasnā€™t sure if I was sending the message to a Person, an Agent or a Machineā€¦

Some newish concepts to get my head around.
Iā€™d dig deeper but just got a cry for help, so Im off out into the night with my jump leads to rescue the wee lassie next door whose new motor has proven to be a disappointmentā€¦

Also - it seems to wotk OK in CLI mode on a PI running Debian server

more later - I need to be in Galston sharpish.

Yeah, the message sending seems not to work yet. I also sent one to you both - ā€œboo!'ā€œ - but I suspected it hadnā€™t got through.

Super cool though.

I tried deleting and re-adding you with the 4 words, but thatā€™s not in the UI yet, so I got an error.

Iā€™ve spotted that oneā€™s IP address is exposed to people youā€™ve added as People when they are connected. So watch out for that if you are bothered about that kind of thing.

Iā€™m sure The Matrix has me already! I can get a new IP.

I canā€™t find it in the interface now but apart from this decoding of the 4 word address Iā€™m sure I saw both your IPs in the GUI yesterday. So I think it only shows when you initially add the Agent as a ā€˜Peopleā€™ or when they are connected.

Laptop was on all night and the status still shows as healthy. So it just doesnā€™t work yet. But itā€™s early days and was worth a try.

Now I look at it properly though - thatā€™s not my IP!

EDIT:-

My real IP starts with ā€˜95.ā€™.

I think I see yours with x0x agents list . Does yours start with ā€˜80.ā€™ ?

Probably me,

I only see my external and LAN ips on one machine. On the Pi I only see the local LAN ip and I havent yet connected to the other box.
Can you connect to himalaya broad cheese brave ?

But I canā€™t connect. It resolves your IP to one beginning with ā€˜31.ā€™ Is that right?

Iā€™m beginning to think there is something wrong with the resolution of the 4 words to IP addresses and that is what is jamming things up.

That resolves to an address that starts with 80.

The error message is Make sure the target agent has announced on the gossip network and appears in `x0x agents list`.

and x0x agents list doesnā€™t show you.

I wonder if there is not just a problem with the name resolution but also some kind of logic failure where it wants something that canā€™t be there yet.

Anyway, as there are big changes maybe this is fruitless at the moment and we just wait until next week. Itā€™s a nice start though.
