What’s up today? (Part 2)

They should change the cloudflare error page to a redirect to Autonomi.

Our marketing material writes itself.

Anyone else suffering from the cloudflare outage? Internet is down again.

Yeah, a few big sites suffering. Antsnest is working though, which also uses Cloudflare, I believe.

A couple of my self hosted sites couldn’t be accessed earlier this morning, but they live on the server in the basement so they were easy to find  . I sure do hate DNS though.

Sounds like the UK needs to put down the tea and pick up the pitchforks.

Both anttp.antsnest.site and anttp.anttp.site were working fine a few mins ago, however both only use Cloudflare for DNS resolution, not proxying.

now all he needs is an ORC to create a CHP system to have some of that heat drive a generator to lower his power bill for lights, refrigeration etc.:slightly_smiling_face:

Or perhaps some sanity returning…

Today I tested “Grok 4.1 fast” for coding … my opinion, don’t bother. I went straight back to deepseek. I only tested this because I read that 4.1 fast was very good at tool use and it may be, but even on my first prompt it started dumping text to the session in a loop-like fashion, as if it’d gone insane … I don’t have time for that kind of nonsense.

I’m sure “Grok 4.1” is probably a good model (as opposed to the “4.1 fast” model I tested), but it’s far too expensive for coding – at least for me anyway.

Deepseek continues to be the cheapest and most effective at tool use in my experience. Be aware there are deepseek clones all over the place - I only use the “deepseek reasoner” api directly via deepseek.com

I don’t want to be an advert for a Chinese company, but I’ve been consistently unimpressed with all others in terms of performance/cost. I do use Claude 4 a fair bit and it’s better than deepseek performance-wise, but more expensive and for most cases, deepseek works well.

Unfortunately, we are witnessing a historic transition from democracy to technological communism, where freedom of speech has been replaced by hate speech, in an attempt to legalise bolshevik digital surveillance in countries that champion freedom and democracy.
