I think it was about 25M just yesterday? I hope the new nodes are current version.
34m nodes and I still can’t upload a directory of 20 files because it insists it has to repay and re-upload every time it fails. All the files are up now, but it won’t complete. Been trying that for many hours now so will have to give up and try plan B.
Tomorrow evening changes
No upload mean nothing, we need more use case, maybe an mobile app that can access to the file or even upload to it
It’s quite insane, but all to play for here IMO. We just need to get the data handling smooth. Lot’s of ideas and tests and many proving quite promising. Strange feeling all this though.
If the new fixes to quotes work tomorrow and uploading shifts up a gear, perhaps we start balancing out faster than we think.
We just need to upload like crazy and push under-provisioned nodes out the door.
I bet they start dropping like flies, once uploading starts.
And the price?
What do you say about the price?
Will we have our “bull run” on our beloved project?
You’ll get us in trouble with the mods. Convo for another thread. The bulls will run as soon as people learn, see and touch whats possible
Or they make more node in this rate in order the spread the load? Idk, maybe it would works and still get all the emissions
It becomes a lot more extensive to host nodes when they actually have to store and retrieve data though!
Oh they still take up the same room, they just cost a lot more

While I can’t upload a single file website I’m working on dweb apps. The first is a proof of concept demo that tests out using the dweb APIs to list and add names, so until I can publish dweb I’m just gonna tease it…
Next is a file manager.
After ten years of development and testing, how is it possible that the network’s most basic function still isn’t working?
And why does the team reward whale for bringing nothing to the end user?
And let the token price going down the hell
Welcome to the forum… that’s quite an opening comment
The network has just gone live and hasn’t been tested ‘in the wild’ at this scale before, and there are teething issues that the team is working to fix, as of course uploads are fundamental.
The project is still a transition from R&D to launched product, so challenges are to be expected.
There is a new focus just announced to bring stuff to the end user (apps):
Token price is going down because there is no demand for getting tokens while uploads are broken & free in ANT terms, plus rightfully not too much marketing hype ahead of the network functioning properly… and the markets are in the doldrums generally.
Hopefully the latest update released today will help with the upload issue so the network can liven up a bit.
The team feels incentivising many empty nodes to be there is beneficial. Some in the community disagree, but at least it’s led to discovering some issues that will need to be addressed as the network scales to many tens of millions of nodes, and it proves that node supply will keep up with any rapid demand increase once network usage growing.
Welcome to the forum @shah_radmar
I think you will find that I am the resident choleric round these parts
but yes, your frustrations are shared.
Tonight we found out what the team are doing to sort our problems.
Stick around, read more of the forum archives, run some nodes if you are not already and lets all move this forward.
It will take some time for enough nodes and clients to upgrade before we see massive improvements in uploading. But the more chunks we do get stored, the better it will get.
THAT DOES NOT MEAN YOU SHOULD NOT AT LEAST TRY TO UPLOAD YOURSELF
that goes for everyone, notjust you @shah_radmar
