No, that is not easy if this code is a proof of reserve storage, not just storage space but also quick availability. More generally this code should be activated permanently and could replace management of sacrificial data that has been removed in the past.

If you have not seen it, check out Greg Maxwell’s post about proof-of-storage, and the resulting project BurstCoin. BurstCoin stores complete garbage to your hard-drive, but there might be something to take away from it. Also, TOR does bandwidth estimation so it could be useful for comparison purposes.
