We should welcome such straightforward honesty instead of self-delusion.
But given your own choice of football team, self-delusion is all you are good at.
Temperatures have risen in Glasgow over the past few days but its still -15 down Govan way…
The big difference is of course with Autonomi, they have the people and the skills to make this better and a community to back them, Rangers have neither the people, the players, the money nor an enlightened fanbase to have any hope of ever competing again.
Just reposting here post from Bux on Discord—for some context for you all, and especially those that aren’t on that channel—expanding on some of the thinking around GtM and what is being rolled out on the marketing front.
It’s an interconnected picture, which does have a bit more complexity than a typical more traditional software launch. But lots of work going on underneath this all.
Happy to fill in the blanks for you where I can if it helps!
People might (and likely will) fall across/into several categories and need different things experience wise
For example:
A bad experience for a token holder would be buying a token that goes down, a good one, buying a token that goes up
A developer a bad experience would be not being able to build easily and not having any clear/proven incentive to try here, versus some other platforms with other (perhaps not comparable) features, a good experience, to build with good docs and support and to attract a customer base for their proposition
A user, a bad experience = no experience or crappy apps that don’t offer much they’re not already getting (for a price they don’t maybe care about enough) elsewhere online, a good experience an application that is incredible and different to what they can get online today (a developers holy grail)
A node runner - good experience - easy to set up, zero cost to download, no risk dollar/pound wise more than willing to put in to say private hosting, or running from a pc, earning something that has real life value, either through utility or market demand/value. bad experience - hard to run, no value to what is being earned/can’t earn and causing performance issues.
For all audiences clearly the fundamentals of upload, download, privacy/security and permanence need to be present - these are what we would call our table stakes.
For the current rollout (and to attract any more and all of the same) people need to know there is a network, know what it is doing and have ways to access it through whichever type of experience they want.
Everyday internet users may never see ‘autonomi’ and just enjoy an app or two that’s running on it (for example).
Currently we are looking towards those that are okay with a little risk, some technical jumps and a ‘new world’ type opportunity - token holders and node runners cross over nicely here. The increase in marketing activity is also good for KOLs who want to report on projects that people seem keen to share and care about (snowball effect) and also demonstrate that current trading volumes are not reflective of future ones based on plans which can only really start when there is a network to use.
According to some nothing works so everyone will have a bad experience……Would be good to hear from those who actually know what’s happening to dispel these negative comments.
I asked Bux if she’d post it over here but had in mind a topic in Marketing. It’ll be missed by many here and lost. I think its a very helpful summary so do you mind posting in it’s own topic?
Maybe some videos showing how things are working would be useful? I was thinking of doing something like that for IMIM, to show how to use it, etc. Could give folks some confidence.
That would be great but my issue is with uploads/downloads in general. If those are working suddenly I will be a “happy” being again It’s great to see the improvements to nodes but unless the network can perform it’s core functions as a result, we don’t have anything worth showing off. Otherwise I would have released awe for each of the most resent live networks. None of them have worked well enough to handle a decent website. The last time I tried we couldn’t upload a directory of a dozen files, and each failure was charged for.
I’ve started to wonder if this is the reason Dave has been delayed and delayed.
Launchpad - unreliable balances
MetaMask - does not show as low as Attos
blockchain explorer - true picture showing it all.
On the blockchain explorer just remember the trap for new players. Trailing zero are truncated so 100 attos (0.000000000000000100) will only show as 0.0000000000000001
This is the best update I’ve ever read, because it includes the news that David has recovered health:point_left: And that’s what I hope we all wish David - permanent health!
To the team and the moderators thank you very much for the brilliant work and the relentless pace, and not only this year but also the whole of 2024, which was very difficult in many ways and many reefs had to be avoided, but the team overcame all obstacles and we made huge progress (even if not everything is as it should be), great respect
What above has gone unnoticed but seems to me to be mega important information, I remember at the beginning of beta testing I wanted to run 5 nodes, the network was taking a huge data transfer and the computer even stopped and the battery was consuming power at an unbelievable rate, I wondered at the time how the network would be able to run on small devices with little computing power or low performance. It’s a quantum leap if this data can be verified!
If you go to sepolia arbscan website and put your long wallet address in there you will see at the bottom of the page if you have any transactions. Ive got 9 nodes running for the last 2 days and have so far got 2 attos!
