Update 18th September, 2025

I checked Dave.

What’s a ‘Personal Vault’? Couldn’t find any info here or on https://docs.autonomi.com/

Dave worked great before now I’m getting:

upload error: failed to retrieve store quotes : Network error: insufficientPeers.

I’ll try again later, cheers

I’m on Windows

edit: it worked on the third try, :+1:

if you select Private and add to personal vault the chunks are added to the network and the data map will be stored in your personal vault so when you log in on another computer with Dave you can get the data map and access your file.

if you upload to Private and Network only the data map will not be in your personal vault so if you log into Dave you wont have access to that file as it was local vault on the uploading system.

Provided I’m understanding the explanation of these choices correctly. Would it be a benefit if the wording was more clear to the average user? Maybe…

Privacy

Private
Access to you only

Public
Access to anyone

Storage

Personal Vault on Network
Access from any device

Network Only - Local Vault
Access from upload device only

Maybe have an information bubble icon next to the Privacy and Storage categories for someone who wants a deeper dive into the mechanics of each choice. If they want to know about data maps and addresses, etc.

Again, assuming I’m understanding these choices properly.

@rusty.spork this is feedback I also gave first time testing, since more users are having trouble understanding I would recommend making some adjustments.

What I would recommend is removing the subtext (like Only accessible with a data map), because you do not have enough space to go into detail what it is. An end user has no clue what a data map is. Instead, add a small information icon that shows a more detailed explanation on-hover. It scales better too, because when (if ever) we’re adding translations, longer languages (like German) are going to a 2-line subtext as well which is hell to manage.

Managed to compile ant-tube on windows after some config tweaks.. great work @Ansalem!

Was able to stream your example video for ca. 1 minute before it stopped (prob due to network issues).

However, great to see that the network is stable enough now that it supports streaming (at least to some extent). :tada:

Interestingly I was not able to stream @aatonnomicc ‘s video.

The OpenGL window opens, but nothing happens.. not sure if the console output helps:

Any other videos to test with?

@Mindphreaker you could give anttp a go if you are up for experimenting

here is a half built site i am working on you can open from your regular browser once you have anttp running.

Very nice!

I opened that with SafeBox client in the background, and a browser set up to access Anttp via proxy settings (because, right now AntTP gets deleted by Windows & the browser extension stopped working for me), and it worked very well… brilliantly fast video streaming, quickly starting music streams, and loading the site instantly… I almost wonder if it were cached somewhere, but I’ve never seen it before and loaded it from localhost, so it must be direct from the network I guess?

Great work to showcase what can be done on Autonomi

The easier it gets to show something cool and anyone to access it, the better

its @Traktion s tarchive magic the whole site is compressed into 4 chunks instead of each file having 4 chunks each it makes it load really fast. and the streaming videos and music files are linked withing the page so stream on demand

if you open it more than once then anttp will cache it for the next run so it will also be available offline.

Amazing update. Things are really starting to pick up some momentum, and I expect that once it gets rolling, it’ll keep building

Very much looking forward to the roadmap and hearing the team talking about their plans.

Fantastic work Impossible Futures devs (prize winners and others), fantastic work Autonomi team, and employees / founders working on side projects getting thrown into the mix.

Sadly anttp.antsnest.site is still down.
What worked previously with Caddy and Cloudflare’s SSL is not working now.
Seems we have resolved the compilation issues but Cloudflare is still being a pain

Its still returning a 502 error for me.
Please let me know if you get any other error.

looks like its working for me unless it cached in my browser

Not working for me, says cloudflare fine, something wrong with host.

I think it was cached, sadly…

yes looks like it but anttp is so easy to get running as it is or with the browser extension people should really be just setting it up locally.

But is a great way to show new people how the network works and also makes it easy to use for non techie people.

It is a important gateway into Autonomi

yes this is the desired long-term solution.
I personally see proxy servers like anttp.antsnest.site as simply unfortunate inelegancies that we MUST provide until everyone can install the browser extension with one-click.

However, once I (re)find the perfect amalgam of Caddy and Cloudflare I will be replicating anttp.antsnest.site on some other VPSes.
Its quiet now, but even moderate adoption might be enough to seriously tax the VPS. Hetzner CX32 for the nosey.

its cool and good effort the point from my side is @Traktion made it so simple for anttp.

download an exe double click then put the link in your browser if some on wants to try it out it dont get any easier than that.

Hetzner has server auction with relative cheap offers, hardware with 1GBit network has unlimited traffic within fair use, I don’t remember but think it might be 20 or 80 TB per month.

If those feel too expensive then maybe community can help also as people got some usdc from the if rewards.

It sounds like @safemedia is pretty close with the docker setup and we should be back in action again soon.

The gateways are brilliant for sharing links with and letting people sample stuff with zero effort. @Southside thanks for persevering too. The build issues can be a pita, but solvable, thankfully!
