Things That Would Not Have Happened On Safe

This is more along the lines of “things that WILL NOT be able to be stopped on safe” …

Anonymous Safe Site, then maybe he’d be free:

This is golden:

First case of insider risk, I think it is the first time I’ve seen of a case this big by a malicious employee abusing their privilege in a cloud service. We always thought about this possibility, and now we have a case.

I don’t understand why on Earth are they suing Github, but if these spurious attacks happen to anyone tangentially linked, makes me wonder about the potential lawsuits that may face the MaidSafe foundation once the network goes live.
One case that comes to my mind is Bleem’s, they won every single lawsuit thrown by Sony, but they went bankrupt for the legal costs…

That would be like suing the creators of linux, or Web server software, or other protocol developers. They are creating the networking protocols and storage protocols. Since there has not been any recorded suits against such then I doubt it.

Hence the word spurious. The lawsuit against Github doesn’t make any sense either.

Lawyers chase big money cause they have little ‘cents’ … they probably heard Microsoft own github and thought they could wring a settlement out of them.

Here another kind of lawsuit that didn’t make sense, to me at least. A bit off topic but funny and I’m sure this also will not happen on Safe: Can Animals Commit Crimes?

Cloudflare terminated 8ch:

But this isn’t the first time they’ve done this:

Almost exactly two years ago we made the determination to kick another disgusting site off Cloudflare’s network: the Daily Stormer. That caused a brief interruption in the site’s operations but they quickly came back online using a Cloudflare competitor. That competitor at the time promoted as a feature the fact that they didn’t respond to legal process. Today, the Daily Stormer is still available and still disgusting. They have bragged that they have more readers than ever. They are no longer Cloudflare’s problem, but they remain the Internet’s problem.

I have little doubt we’ll see the same happen with 8chan. While removing 8chan from our network takes heat off of us, it does nothing to address why hateful sites fester online. It does nothing to address why mass shootings occur. It does nothing to address why portions of the population feel so disenchanted they turn to hate. In taking this action we’ve solved our own problem, but we haven’t solved the Internet’s.

I’ve noticed that it tends to be the ‘left’ leaning companies and governments persecuting the ‘right’ leaning political groups and people online … Something I expect will happen (and I’ve no cards in the game as I’m an anarchist - so for me politics is just theatre) … I think that eventually the backlash against the left for all of this will lead to farther and farther right-leaning politicians taking power in most places. And then they will use these same tactics against the left … and the left will not be able to scream and complain – which I think may be intentional … As an anarchist I tend to think that both sides are just a ruse and that they really are funded and controlled by the same side - that of the oligopolists (the oligarchy) and that the whole left versus right thing is just controlled opposition to keep people fighting against each other instead of doing anything meaningful to change the way things are done fundamentally. This is why I love the Safe Network project as it does aim to fundamantally shift the underlying mechanisms of society.

I find it far more likely that even at the top people can really hate each other.
Especially when they work in very different industries.
Or even very different countries.
