We already have a useful and clear if not very detailed road map, regular statements of activity & progress, and recently a really clear explanation of current status and what is happening next. Everyone would like to know the when, but the difficulty of predicting this accurately makes the use of public estimates debatable (see above! ).
An observation: this desire for timescales even though there’s agreement they won’t be accurate, crops up repeatedly - often I think during a hiatus in progress or community testing activity. So maybe this is prompted by the anxiety that understandably arises when not much seems to be going on in terms of features added, new demos to play with etc.
So I wonder if there’s another way of addressing this. Rather than again asking for timescales, debating it, and as has been happening lately, refraining from doing so perhaps it’s something we can recognise as anxiety and look for other ways of addressing.
I remain of the view that inaccurate timescales are not useful to anyone, so bear with me if you disagree with that! What else would help you?
