Shared a post on Twitter to help get the word out
Lionel just shared this in the testnet thread. I think it just means that it will get a fresh restart.
Outstanding progress team @maidsafe. This is a herculean task, and you’ve gotten it nearly done with little fanfare and bare-bone resource compared to others. ![]()
I just joined the community today and it looks like I’m just in time to try out the new toy!
So with this update, does that mean we all get to now run the vaults, contribute to the network and start farming from SafeCoin now?
Run the vaults - yes, although the testnet is currently down
Contribute to the network - yup!
Start farming from SafeCoin now - nope, not yet.
Ah, this link still leads to the original version of the whitepaper, which was written back when we were still thinking that the concrete coin is enough. There was a newer version 2.0, the one modified in collaboration with prof. Buchanan, which actually mentions the DKG, available for example here: https://arxiv.org/pdf/1907.11445.pdf
Just to clarify, Safecoin by Maidsafe have not yet been created and don’t exist yet, Safecoin by Maidsafe will be created closer to launch. Right now there are test-networks.
I do not think we are very far from the exchange … reading your comments, it seems distant.
You see it so far away ???
I don’t know how far it is but it will be at the later stages around when the network is ready for atleast beta release.
I just made the comment because there is atleast one other project using the Safecoin name, if you search on coingecko. That Safecoin have no relation to Maidsafe but sometimes when people don’t research they think that it is related to Maidsafe and the SAFE-network.
Thank you for the heavy work team MaidSafe! Give us the Toy! ![]()
I add the translation into Bulgarian in the first post ![]()
Glad you clarified that. Not a big deal but I was scratching my head on that because I remember Andreas Fackler bringing in a nice approach from his work with the POA team and then the 2.0 paper being refined with better synchrony assumptions and sent in for peer review. Also glad to see you still about the forum!
