That’s a question about the desired behaviour of the mutable APIs.

This looks promising

And non-breaking!

Does anybody know what it is about?

Looks like bypassing all the processing behind KAD libraries doing a fetch record and doing the fetch directly with the node holding the record. Seems there must be a decent amount of processing & communications overhead when asking KAD library to do the fetch.

One assumes that this is after the location of the nodes holding the record are known

Not sure what it has to do with the RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland)? Or is that resource breakdown services

Asked Grok who thought for 3 minutes and guessed:

Ahah, gotcha @neo, you are Grok and I claim £5

OK that went over me head.

The Scottish notes I have have “The Royal Bank of Scotland plc” on them. RBS for short

And resource breakdown came from an older memory during my programming history. And I guessed “services”

Sorry, I made too obscure a reference - too UK of a certain age. It wasn’t a comment on that but probably not worth explaining. I assume JPL and Southside got it from their emojis.

Least contentious statement you have made for weeks

Actually stands for Right Bunch of Shitebags

gotta be careful, our esteemed @DavidMc0 may well have been an RBSer at some point. I certainly did a lot of contracting for them back then.

Q How can you tell an Edinburgh banker?
A By their extreme flexibility and the brown ring round their neck

I have not had the pleasure of working for RBS. The closest I got was a tour of one of their server rooms in Edinburgh

I’m also terribly inflexible, and have a clean neck.

Apologies - Obv not an ex-RBS droid then…

I’m all agog.

Will there be a bug-splattering release?
Will we soon be able to return to actually doing stuff with this network?
Will we descend into a slough of off-topic acrimony?
Will Celtic avoid utter embarrassment tonight v Feyenoord?

All these questions and more may soon have answers. Sack the Board!

FTAOD - THats the Celtic board, NOT @Bux etc

As ever I’m hoping for some good news tomorrow.
Hopefully something that will re-invigorate the forum and keep us out of off-topicness.

Love and happiness to (almost) all of you.

In unrelated news, just to prove I bear no huge grudges, I’m off to look at a nice soft-top Saab tomorrow. Not everything Swedish is shite

However they are going to have to put up with extra garlic, chilli and cumin in their meatballs in the next few years .

Kofte not Kottbullar!!!

Yeah, I know you talk a lot but when it comes down to it maybe there is something there, even if you hide it well. That SAAB is probably better than the current Lada’s, good choice, some more of that then and you will reach a place in my heart again someday in the future. Good luck with the SAAB.

My father placed high in the international championship for SAAB mechanics in 80’s-90’s, so I have grown up with the wonderful 2.3 turbo thunder that pushed me deep into the seat every time as a kid. SAAB will always hold a special place in my heart, my sister still has a 9-3 cabriolet and she planing to get another one to drive in the winter.

My uncle left a western car i Romania sometime in the 70’s-80’s, it was meant to be there until he came back later but when he was on the train home then suddenly it stopped and he was asked to take a phone call, the Romanian stassi told him that he was not allowed to leave a western car in Romania. so he had to get of the train and get the car. He was also traveling a lot on the country side of Romania to learn about the Romanian people and their culture, the stassi followed him and went in to every home he had visited to question what they had talked about, sometimse he went up to the car they sat in and joked with them that they had missed a house. I hope you won’t suffer the same faith with your SAAB in Scotland.

Another time after the Soviet union fell he got an offer to sell brand new Russian tanks on the black market, they apparently bribed a few guards with a few years sallary and drow the tanks onto a ship with waste on it and then placed them in a waste yard somewhere, he should have got something like $200 000 for every sold tank but he declined, also he told me recently that it would have been quite difficult to find buyers.
