Out of 52 files uploaded with one transaction, one was not downloaded successfully (confirmed it doesn’t download with anttp.antsnest.site either) and I had to make a second transaction to upload it.

I should make a page (in SAFE-FS?) where you can paste this entire list and it can have statuses for each file, like

:cross_mark: inaccessible

or

:white_check_mark: Working

Dedication. Everyone needs a partner as dedicated to them as Dimitar is to uploading and cataloging Autonomi data uploads

Today Dave and I spent over 3 hours trying to figure out some issues. I tried uploading 52 files in one transaction, but they didn’t upload. I got the errors quoted below. I kept trying again and again — a total of four transactions — and each time the number of addresses receiving ANT decreased: transaction 1 sent to 212 addresses, transaction 2 to 170, transaction 3 to 4, and transaction 4 also to 4. All four uploads failed.

I made a fifth attempt, but I forgot to mark the files as public, so they were uploaded as private — and this time the upload succeeded (I haven’t tested if they download). This transaction paid to 3 addresses.

Then I tried uploading them again as public. Transaction 6 paid to 2 addresses and said the upload was successful, but Dave didn’t show the Data Addresses, only the Data Maps.

I decided to try again from a different address. I made six more transactions there, and every upload failed — each one paid to between 7 and 2 addresses.

At that point I ran out of time because my child woke up. I should also mention that I deleted the bootstrap_cache folder several times during the process.

Dave was doing yesterday’s problems, so I tried from a virtual machine in case something went wrong on the main one. From there I was able to upload successfully, with the first transaction from the main machine sending ANT to 210 addresses, and the second transaction from the virtual machine sending ANT to 29 addresses. I mistakenly selected only 50 files to upload and had to make a third transaction with the remaining 2 files from the batch.

Day 54-Day 63

The team has indicated that it is still not recommended to upload data, as only 15% of the nodes have updated to the new version. However, I still decided to test the new version of Dave, since it appears to perform better in Quote Gathering. Below is a comparison of the upload speeds for versions 0.3.9, 0.4, and 0.4.1:

Comparison Table (Upload Speed Differences Between Versions)

Time values are in seconds for easier comparison.

File Dave 0.3.9 Dave 0.4.0 Dave 0.4.1 Difference (0.3.9 → 0.4.1) % Change Difference (0.4.0 → 0.4.1) % Change
Novel “New land” 223 176 47 sec faster 21.1% faster
Bible (BG 1925) 348 171 177 sec faster 50.9% faster
King James Bible 130 163 33 sec slower 25.4% slower
3 files Day 42 420 208 212 sec faster 50.5% faster
3 files Day 43 370 195 175 sec faster 47.3% faster
3 files Day 44 332 177 155 sec faster 46.7% faster

Overall

  • The biggest improvement is Bible (BG 1925) with ~51% faster upload.
  • Only one case saw a slowdown: King James Bible (~25% slower).
  • Between 0.4.0 and 0.4.1, the speed improvements are very consistent: 46–51% faster across all tests.

I just cannot praise your methodological approach enough. It’s so great to see the network tested systemically.
